3Mobile - Old Generation League | Champions ???

Most of us have already selected squads for the one-day format. Changing the formats again would unnecessarily cause more confusion and frustration among managers who aren't all that patient, especially after the Pomtralia and South Indies episode. Better to keep it at one-dayers for all and let those managers who somehow assume the format is Test/T20 fail miserably. Everyone wins that way.

@Sami Kumar - Tharanga, Samaraweera, Chandimal & Prasanna Jayawardene shouldn't even be in that squad, mate. You want some really good batsmen? Pick from these - Duleep Mendis, Roy Dias, Mahadevan Sathasivam, Roshan Mahanama, Sidath Wettimuny.

A good keeper-batsman? Go for Romesh Kaluwitharana. Stats don't tell the story of how dominating he could be on his day. But please don't ever pick Prasanna Jayawardene in a limited overs squad. :p

True that , I have no Idea why I picked those players , when such legends were available for me to Select . Thanks Bro , Edited my squad .

Sometimes I think , what would've Happened to my Team , If VC wasn't here !

Some knowledge about oldies and common sense. ;)

There's another more accurate word for that - cricket nerd.

Damn, I selected a test specialists type of squad. :(

Nourse, Mitchell etc wouldn't be all that good in limited overs matches I reckon.

You could go with this one :-

:bat: Barry Richards
:bat: Gary Kirsten
:bat: Graeme Smith/Herschelle Gibbs
:bat: Hashim Amla
:ar: Eddie Barlow

:ar: Jacques Kallis
:bat: Graeme Pollock

:wkb: AB de Villiers
:ar: Mike Procter

:ar: Lance Klusener
:ar: Clive Rice
:wk: Mark Boucher
:ar: Shaun Pollock
:ar: Aubrey Faulkner

:bwl: Allan Donald
:bwl: Dale Steyn
:bwl: Vince van der Bijl (Tall, Garner-like bowler who missed out because of apartheid)

:bwl: Hugh Tayfield

If you're not happy with these, there's still a great bunch of players to choose from :-

Other good 'uns

:bat: Jimmy Cook
:bat: Peter Kirsten
:bat: Arthur Melville

:bat: Daryll Cullinan (epic fail when facing Shane Warne though)
:bat: Dudley Nourse

:bat: Jonty Rhodes
:bat: Colin Bland
:ar: Hansie Cronje (fixer, but still pretty good)
:wk: Lee Irvine
:wk: Denis Lindsay
:ar: Dave Nourse

:ar: Brian McMillan
:ar: Jimmy Sinclair
:ar: Trevor Goddard
:wk: Dave Richardson

:bwl: Fanie de Villiers
:bwl: Neil Adcock
:bwl: Makhaya Ntini
:bwl: Garth Le Roux
:bwl: Morne Morkel
:ar: Peter Pollock
:bwl: Andre Nel

:ar: Pat Symcox
:bwl: Paul Adams
:ar: Bert Vogler

Hope that helps, cheers.

I would rather call people like us as cricket crazy.

:bwl: Vince van der Bijl (Tall, Garner-like bowler who missed out because of apartheid)

Almost, he did not had the pace of Garner but certainly had the accuracy. His figures, both FC and his height are similar to Garner's. (Garner was 203 cm tall compared to 202 cm of van der Bijl. :D )

Yeah, that'd be more accurate. I work out, know/care very little about science/other stuff that nerds do & hardly play video games, so I shouldn't be classified as a 'nerd'. Will use that from here on.

It also occurred to me that Basil D'Oliveira could be eligible to play for South Africa. He only moved to England because apartheid harshly limited his opportunities back home. The guy only started playing proper level cricket at age 33 as his cricinfo profile suggests and still managed to notch up such impressive numbers. Could come in quite handy if rated accurately.

While Basil is a great figure is South African cricket for being a first colored man from the region to make it big in cricket, he only played all his professional cricket in England so by the rules of this particular league, he is very much an English player.
