In 2005 England made history after they beat Australia 2-1 in the most prestigious competition in world cricket... The Ashes series. Since then England Cricket has gone downhill, In 2006/07 they were whitewashed down under in the 3 Mobile Ashes Series. They went out in the Super 8's of the ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies. Duncan Fletcher was replaced by Peter Moores as coach.

I want to add a new never used before feature for this story, I want to do an Ashes Countdown. This involves whoever can do this to start a game with Australia and do all their 2008/09 season tours on C07/05 and I will update with their progress and if they want they can play their own Ashes series and do whatever they want after that and carry on doing their own thing.
Post here if you are interested.

Good luck with this joint story(?), hopefully you can get a good member to do it with and make a successful and long story. Looking forward to it, Kieron.

I will be doing this with shantanu_rooney, he will play as Australia on Cricket 2005.
There will be a PlanetCricket Rankings with Test and ODI (ODI's and T20's) with 10 points for a series win, 5 for series tied, 2 for series loss but won at least one match and 0 for no wins.

ENGLAND'S 2008/9 SEASON ITINERY ANNOUNCED

Today ECB chairman Giles Clarke announced England's 2009 Ashes series build up tours to be

New Zealand (H)
3 tests, 1 T20 int and 5 ODI's

South Africa (H)

4 tests, 1 T20 int and 5 ODI's

India (A)
7 ODI's and 2 Tests

West Indies (A)
4 tests, 1 T20 int and 5 ODI's

West Indies (H)
2 tests and 3 ODI's

Australia's Ashes tour (H)
5 tests, 2 T20 int and 7 ODI's

Giles Clarke said afterwards "We have a very busy season this year but we need to be prepared for the Ashes next year, we will follow the Australian team's progress very closely this year and take everything we can on board, they have lost a few big names since we last played them down under in 2006/07, Glen McGrath has gone along with Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne to name a few. They have replaced these legends with great new young players. This will be closer than 2005 we won't be whitewashed."

Sky Sports have introduced a new feature for use during this Ashes run in called Ashes Countdown where Sky Sports brings Australia's progress right to your PC, Mobile or TV, sign up at skysports.com/ashescountdown or text Ashes to 08440 or just watch Sky Sports News for updates, it'll also be on their blog on planetcricket.org so kep your eyes peeled because the Ashes starts now.

Nice presentation there, Kieron. You do have a very budy season and it's going to be very hard in my opinion. India and West Indies away will be hard whilst New Zealand at home should be the easiest. South Africa and Australia will give you a run for your money and considering they are the best two test sides at the moment(imo) then you're going to have to play exceedingly well.

Good luck in the season.

Nice to see Sky Sports get the majority of the series, but also nice to see other Broadcasters having a chance as well.

Like Shan said; The updates are quick and regular, which is the best in a story. Keep it up.
