4th Test: England v Australia at Leeds

Talking of a ginge, this is almost the Siddle I enjoyed watching in South Africa. Bowling genuinely quick, just needs to be giving abit more of a stare with some shouting and he'd be there.

Doesn't really look like he's playing at the ball, just putting the bat inside of line and lowering his edging chances. It's a bad habit though.

Really wish Hilfy would pitch the ball up more and learn to use his straighter ball more.

Enter Johnson!

Good point, still a very average way of leaving the ball. If one comes back in there is only one place its going to be touching.

That is the way an opening batsman should be playing, at least it is the way that real openers do. It may not be the way that the thrash and bash guys do it but it is the way it should be done.

What a morning lol. Billy Bowden's already made his mark I've heard. When's Bopara going to be dropped, he's a hack of a number three.

Mitchell Johnson coming into the attack, quite surprised, expected Clark. He had a haircut :p

Neil McKenzie leaves the ball in exactly the same fashion. You'd hope if Cook's watching the ball he would notice it's an inswinger and play it.

Why don't you Aussie's moan about player styles as much as I do about Katich? Cook is horrible to watch and no-ones mentioned it all series. Sort yourselves out lads.

Johnson's got himself a new hair-cut. Looks like a bell, hopefully it'll make him bowl like one.

Edit: Shot Belly :p

Katich has an awesome style!

Buzzcut is the new style. All the cool Aussie players are doing it. Siddle, Clarke, Clark, Katich.

You get use to it after awhile. Cook has hardly been in long enough or we've been bowling shocking that I never really noticed Cook doing that.

Thats the line Johnson, I can see Bell getting out to that very soon.

aussie1st added 0 Minutes and 38 Seconds later...

I've hardly ever seen openers use it. Hussey's method is more the one I'm use to.

I think he is playing correctly. He is putting the bat in a position to hit the ball he has to without having to make a last minute stab at it if it surprises him.
