4th Test: England v Australia at Leeds

Been bowling really well for the last 12 months. Bowled very well against your boys and South Africa last summer. Didn't get the wickets he deserved against SA though. Been really good to see him improve so much.

Notice Watson's last defensive shot go behind him again. Very strange.

Even when the ball isn't swinging he seems a much better bowler. I remember that seven wicket haul he picked up against NZ though, he took the first seven wickets Irrc.

Lets be honest its not really that hard bowling out our boys with the swinging ball :p

But yeah his turned into a really good bowler

I swear he's been a different bowler since he went back to his original action. I suppose nature > biomechanics. I don't think he had a definite outswinger during his patchy stage.

I believe I read either a post on here or a article saying it took awhile to get Anderson back to his original action after the mess Cooley did with him. So it wasn't all happy go lucky for Cooley.

Yep, that was an excellent spell of bowling. The delivery to dismiss McCullum was superb. He dismissed all the top 7 you're right. How, Redmond, McCullum, Taylor, Flynn, Hopkins and Oram on the way to 7/43. Awesome spell.

First ball of Anderson's over was defended behind by Watson again. He must play the ball seriously late.

Edit: There we go again.

Siddle bowled well today,he got 5 wickets...
Aus 23/1 in 4 overs, they are really going after the bowling here, they should be a bit watchful, the ball is new,if they loose 1-2 wickets more now they will be on backfoot...

Most teams struggle with the swinging ball TBH.

Watson really going after the bowling,if he stays there for this session, mostly Aus will be definitely having lead..

Interesting. Didn't Cooley also work with Plunkett's action. Something about getting more bounce. Not too sure. I believe he's gone down the pecking order too. And Jones has been injury prone though i don't think we can blame Cooley for that.

Watson batting well. He's certainly proving a lot of critics (myself included) wrong. Though how many times have we said this?

Ponting looking more comfortable against Harmy. Wouldn't have seen him play that shot in 05 without getting hit.

Watson is playing like Viru, with this approach the bowlers really dont know where to bowl and suddenly the score reaches in 50's in 6-7 overs (in test), and so on,lets see, this is an interesting phase...

The aren't really going hard at all. They have just got good value for their shots with a large number of boundaries in the total. They have also been helped by a mix of good and not so good bowling
