5th Test: England vs Australia at the Brit Oval

The pattern continues with Siddle and Johnson. When one has a bad day in terms of economy the other follows, both going at 5 an over today. Last match they were around 3 an over from memory.

Collingwood gone. Looked to be just a matter of time. I'm really not convinced by him anymore. Could be time for Cook and Collingwood to be replaced, they're just not progressing as cricketers. Time for Trott to stake a claim. I wouldn't be surprised to see Strauss, Moore/Denly, Bell, Pietersen and Trott making up our batting order come South Africa.

Collingwood gone,Aus were targetting Trott in media before the match, lets see,if they can get his wicket early before the end of this session, then the session will belong to Aus...

Collingwood's temperament has fallen big time since I last saw him. He use to be one of those guys that valued his wicket and was able to leave those wide ones for ages.

Nice bouncer from North :laugh Warnie can't remember the one he bowled to KP in 2005 though strangely. Was a good'un that, flew straight past KP's grill.

Warne's so clearly got the hots for Miss Allen. Rightly so as well, she is looking rather hot. He'll be txting her by the end of the day.

I knew when she was busy on her phone that there'd be a twitter update. It was in fact, a picture of her at the cricket. Mind. blown.

England back to zero, but still a good score to start over from.

The ball is wobbling a bit.

That was an awful, awful cricket shot. I was really hoping he'd turn a 50 into a hundred, not to be. Going to need a massive partnership from Prior and Trott now.

Poor from Cook, Collingwood and Prior. Australia haven't bowled particularly well today and with all that's at stake they should have done better. Trott is looking technically sound and with Flintoff playing his last game there should be two batsmen here with value on their wickets.

Cook has got to go. Personally I'd bring Stephen Moore in to open with Strauss. Would be tough to try that on a massive tour of South Africa but as soon as Cook's gone to work on his game the better for England.

Trott is not looking technically sound. Walks too far across his stumps, plays through mid-wicket far too often, but he's getting away with it, and is looking far more comfortable. Certainly not technically sound though.

Flintoff has to put in 1 final batting performance for us here, if he gets out cheaply we're going to struggle. Regarding Flintoff, give this a read:

Andrew Flintoff comes up short in great debate - Times Online

Excellent article, won't be popular, but it's a superb read.

Good slower ball for Prior, I was wondering when that was going to pop up. It's also ideal for Johnson to bowl at Flintoff if he can produce a few sharp short balls.

Back to Bell, I don't know if you can really attribute Bell's problem to technique or a small weakness in a particular area. Sometimes he's just really bad at making decisions. He can be seen trying to get onto the front foot against short balls, but then he doesn't always get forward as much as he should, as in his dismissal. He might look likely for lbw, but if you bowl wide at him on a good length, he'll have the odd dip.
