Because I experimented in all my games. My team is rather good now, since I've found a good settled XI. All I need is one more good batsman, which I'll get soon enough, and I'll have a near unbeatable team! :) :p
Anyways, yesterday's Review is coming up...

fancy bidding on cornes for 2 million?

sorry, that was shameless advertising

Wait till you see Sunday's Cup Game...that's a hell of a challenge.
But the League is easy so far. Will be tough when I promote next season.

Review coming up.

Another day, another win. The TT Lions are now into round 3 of the cup.
having lost the toss for the first time this season, the Lions were made to bowl first. Rudi and Folkes got straight to work, and had reduced the boz-eyes batting to 35/3 after 11 overs. Tuckett was introduced into the attack, and all of a sudden, 100 looked and improbability. But a fantastic knock by Bravo -who made his intentions clear by hitting Rudi for six on his very first ball- and some clean hitting from Denton carried the team pass 150. The re-introduction of Folkes into the attack wiped out the tail though, and all the Lions needed was 166 for victory.
The surprise of this innings was the selection of Keith Andrews yet again, with Xavier Eli cooling his heels. Many fans wanted to see there new prodigy in action, and in all fairness, Eli probably would have done a good job. Tuckett bowled a fantastic spell on a pitch which didn't aid spin, but Andrews was targeted and picked apart for 70 runs by Denton and Bravo in their slap-happy 75 run partnership, and then later by Bravo alone as he marshalled the tail expertly. Crouch bowled with good accuracy and swing, showing some good form, while Abdeen kept wicket with all the confidence of a veternan, despite letting through 7 byes.
In reply, the Lions got off to a shaky start, Abdeen falling the victim to yet another poor decision. Runako Leary was very impressive, bowling with great control and pace, and although no one bowled particulary poorly, no one was great either. Whing fell out of fustration, trying to hit the spinner Osbourne out of the park, but the in-form Rudi and Tom Gallagher in his first knock of the season steered the team home with plenty of time to spare.

Ratings:

Again, outclassed, although boz-eyes did put up more of a fight than any other team this season. Rudi was deserving of his MOTM award, although I would have given it to Benjamin Bravo for his brave and excellent innings.

Attendance:

Not much, and not much cash either as a result.

Join us on Friday when the Lions pay a trip to the Port Royal Pirates CG !

Mondays trip to the Nets.

Monday is the day on which the Training Updates occur on BT. It's when you get the see the fruit of all the net sessions you have invested in your players along with their hard work. If you are lucky, they may improve -or as it is know in Battrick jargon, 'pop'- in a skill.

Here are this week's trainees:
Mohaideen Abdeen (1 wicketkeeping net, 1 fitness net, 1 fielding net, 1 batting net): No pops, (BTR) increase.
Xavier Eli (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): No pops, BTR increase.
Wavell Folkes (2 bowling nets, 1 fitness net): No pops, BTR increase

Nothing this week :( Ah well, there are still plenty of weeks to come...

Another easy win for TT lions... but Andrews was lot expensive!

Fans outraged at Eli's exclusion!

A lot of TT Lion's fans have been outraged at the non-selection of young spin prodigy Xavier Eli.
Long time fan Joe Bloggz says:
"He's is a fine talent, it's boggling why he isn't in the team over Keith Andrews"
Lots of other fans haven't reacted too well either. "Andrews was lot expensive!" said one, "Yeah, 7 RPO!!" another.
Rob Jupiter and Amol Subhesh, both workers for the PCWF as profession, have followed the team for quite a while and are also shocked at the selection policies of late.
"We appreciate what Andrews has done for the team in the past season or so, but it's the perfect time to blood in the youth and the future of the club. Zorax has had two perfect opportunities to give him a chance, but has squandered both"
Subhesh chipped in with "Abdeen has gotten his chance, why not Eli? Andrews has shown in the previous game that he lacks the talent and aggression to get wickets and keep the batsmen in check even on difficult tracks. Eli has talent and variations, and isn't afraid to use them"
Former TT Lion's player and host of the popular show "Tuesday's Top Player Interview" Chris Gamble has also spoken out:
"I have been a big fan of Zorax ever since he took over the team, but I too am boggled by his decision to persist with Andrews when there is a perfect opportunity to let Eli get some match experience in. The following matches this week are all tight games, and now Zorax has a choice to make. Had squandered a great chance, and now has to choose between an uncapped young talent, or an out of form veternan"
The Lion's next game is this Friday agains the Port Royale Pirates at the Port Royale Pirates CG.
