Thats quite a low attendance guess they are sick of the no contests :)
And the fans know their stuff, bring in Xavier Eli!

Zorax rises to Andrew's defence

The TT Lions manager Zorax Doom has spoken out about his decision to play Andrews over Eli.
"Andrews has performed time and time again for the team, and has skill and experience. Eli is still young and fresh off the block, and although talented, still has quite a way to go"
He also addressed his critics who feel that Eli deserved an immmediate spot in the squad, after all, Wavell Folkes and Mohaideen Abdeen waltzed right into the first XI.
"Mohi and Wavell made it into the team because we had a lack of batting and pace bowling options. Eli will obviously have a harder time getting a spot in the team due to Andrews and Tuckett. Hopefully that will make him work harder and make him a better bowler as a result"
Eli has yet to play for the Lions, sitting out for his first two games with the squad, Their next game is on Friday against the Port Royale Pirates.

Time for...

Tuesday's Top Player Interview
With Chris Gamble

CG: Welcome to your favourite show, Tuesday's Top Player interview, with me, your host, Chris Gamble. Today, we have Lennox Rudi, who is in sensantional form after scores of 151* and 57* and bowling figures of 2/13 and 2/31 in two games over the past weekend! So Lennox, or rather, Lenno, how have you been?
LR:I'm good, I'm good.
CG: So, you've had a great season so far, what are your goals?
LR: Umm, well, I'll try to do my best, bowl well, score some runs, and do my bit for the team and hope we do well.
CG: Good, good. So how did you get into cricket?
LR: Ah...as a seven year old, I couldn't play many sports with my allergies, so I watched them on TV. And I just got drawn into cricket. So I joined the Youth Academy for the TT Lions which was nearby, and just played cricket. We informed the coach's of my allergies, and I just tried my best. I loved playing cricket, still do, and just want to keep improving and keep doing well.
CG: Great stuff, nice to know players still have a passion for the game. Do you follow any other teams?
LR: Hmm...not really :) I do follow the Windies NT team, but club wise, I like the Briggs Bullets, Old Wulfs, Falcons, Cricket Geniuses, Everton and Assassins XI. I feel they have good squads and are good teams with good managers, although that doesn't apply to the Old Wulfs and Falcons :p. As for weaker teams, I feel Aura, Challengers XI, Spinners United, Kutta's Unicorns and Baggy Blues all have promise.
CG:I though you said you didn't follow other teams...;)
LR: Haha :)
CG:So, anyways, how is it like playing at the Lions?
LR: Ah, it's good, it's good. The guys are great, they work hard, we get along well, so it's good.
CG: Okay. And now, before we leave, what are your thoughts on this whole Andrews/Eli issue?
LR: I'd rather not comment. They are both great guys, both excellent bowlers, I'd be honoured to play alongised either one.
CG: Alrighty then. Thank you Lenno. Well, there you have it, Lennox Rudi, a hard-working, determined team man. And he is this week's Tuesday's Top Player! :)

The outcomes of the quiz was unexpected :p I expected Rudi to perform well in bowling but he did the other way ;)

But still, i say, Andrew must be rested in next game & some talented promising player shd be given chance! :)

Zorax is a Racist!

Fans react badly to Eli exclusion!

"It's so obvious that Zorax is a recist, everyone can see it!"
Well, atleast college student Massanz Callaghan and his friends see it that way.
"He has kept Eli out of the team and Andrews in because Andrews is white and Eli is black, it's disgraceful! The same thing happened with Billy Shipp early in his stint with the team. It was not until he saved Zorax's...well...I can't say this on TV.. but it wasn't until he rescued the TT Lions with 133 from number 7 against Anfield_Reds did he become a regular in the team"
"I don't know if he is a racist, but I do know that Zorax is a hypocrite," says fellow college student Rodney Fliggsay. "He admitted when he signed Xavier Eli that he was the finest prospect he had ever seen, but why would you not play him if that's the case? It's ridiculous!"
Other fans have experessed similar, if not as strong, distaste for Zorax's selection policies.
"But still, i say, Andrew must be rested in next game & some talented promising player shd be given chance!" was the reply of one such fan, while another felt that Zorax should be fired. "I put up the notion that Zorax must be sacked for it!" said new Aura manager Effine, who just replaced the recently sacked Aura manager Eurycles, who happened to be a close friend of Zorax's.
The last reaction of the day came from a Kiwi-based fan via Email - "And the fans know their stuff, bring in Xavier Eli!" Maybe they do, maybe they don't, but we are sure to find out in the next few days. Stay tuned for more info when we get it!

haha ha :p nice job dear loving it
nice pres. your doing cool job

Great stuff man keep it up.
good to see Rudi saying i am a good manager with good team.

Today while talking to press manager of Assassins XI Zain Awan said "...and i support fans for not bringing Eli in first XI. i would not go as far as saying that zorax is racist or hypocrite because i know him personally and i know he must have some reasons not play Eli. But if i was in his position Eli would have been my first choice over Andrews.
I am not saying that Andrews is a bad bowler. He is good and experienced and have performed really well for his team over the years but now is the time to replace him with some more good and fresh blood."

Hey!
That's not nice!
Okay, time for my Groundsman's show...

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom
From Shaka Nelson

Hello, welcome to Wednesday's Words of Wisdom, where we give you, the readers, a piece of advice on Battrick every week, delivered by the TT Lion's experienced groudsman, Shaka Nelson. Today's piece of Advice is:

"The pitch and weather plays a big role. Always be sure to check up on them before a game. If it is sunny, you may want to bat first, but if there is any cloud cover, the ball's gonna swing. The pitch is crucial, it can be the difference between winning and losing. All bowlers would like some assitance on the pitch, quicker ones some bounce, slower ones some grass, moisture or dryness, and all bowlers, particularly the consistent ones, a cracked or uneven track. But if your lineup is more tilted to batting, hard pitches neutralize spinners, and flat ones make batting easier against all bowlers. But the best teams tend to thrive on slow pitches, as they require the most skill when bowling or batting."

Thank you, and join us again next week in another Wednesday's Words of Wisdom.

i really wonder why the coach is giving a strong support to Andrew.... its somewat like keeping Sehwag as opener by the Chappel inspite of his struggles :p
