Keith Andrews Announces Shock Retirement!!
An Artisit's rendition of Keith Andrews at the conference
In a shocking turn about of events, Keith Andrews has announced his retirement from the TT Lions, just 28 minutes and 32 seconds after Zorax stood up in his defense.
"There come times in a player's career, when you feel that it is time to move on. I have enjoyed my time here at the TT Lions immensely, but now I feel it is time I move on to another club."
Questioned on whether this out-of-the-blue retirement had anything to do with Xavier Eli and with Andrews now uncertain of his place, he replaied:
"There are plenty of young and bright talents trying to find a place in the team, and I don't wish to hold them back. The media and fans opinions hasn't had any bearing on my decision. I have been pondering this move since the end of the previous season, and just about half an hour ago I discussed this with Zorax, and we agreed that I would leave the club by this Monday. I have had a wonderful time in this club, lots of great memories and have made plenty of great friends, it will be sad to leave them, but it is time to move on. I will cherish these memories forever."
When asked what his highest points with the team were, Andrews replied:
"It's tough to choose, I have had lots of great times here. I'd rate the match against Cricket Geniuses on the 4th of June last year as one of my finest. I took 3 wickets and bowled well, and was there to hit the winning runs after Arthur Dennis launched and amazing onslaught. It was fabulous." Keith Andrews took 83 wickets for the TT Lions at only 18.39 runs apiece, conceding a meagre 3.58 runs per over. He has also taken 2 five wicket hauls, with a best of 5/19.
Asked for what was his biggest regreat, he was snap to respond with:
"My batting. Definately. Felt I could have contributed a lot more. I was always expecting a fifty to be just around the corner, but it never came." Keith has scored 60 runs in 16 innings at an average of 4.62 and a strike rate of 57.14, with a highest of 18.
Zorax Doom was also present at the Press Conference and had a few words to say too.
"Keith has been fabulous for us here in the team, has performed consistently and has been vital to the team's success. His experience and skill as a bowler has been a vital asset to the team, and it will be sad to se him leave. It was really a shock to all of us here, and we wish him a prosperous and happy future no matter what path he chooses."
But before leaving, Zorax chimed in with:
"I think most of you would be happy to hear this, but this now means that Xavier Eli is definately going to play tommorrow. 100%. I have confirmed, you have all heard me"
Both of them proceeded to walk off, followed by a large cheer from the crowd and a chant of 'For he is a jolly good fellow'. Keith Andrews is open to any offers from any club around the world, and Xavier Eli is in the starting XI for tommorrow's crunch game. That is all the news for the day, join us next time!
