India is overall poor but there is a terrible inequality of money in the country. For those that know economics, it's Lorenz curve is bent out a lot. India is one of the biggest economies in the world.

Your proposal wouldn't work at all btw.

Well It would have been very much better if there would have been teams from all nations, but it's still not the worst and the crap, it still interests millions of people outside India too.

And to those who came running to the thread saying that Indian domestic structure is poor and whatever India will lose to their teams and etc. etc.

India does have a well defined domestic structure but there is a big difference between domestic and international levels and that's surely a weakness.

But don't forget, India generates the finest of cricketers, more to say finest of Batsmen all over the world, it's not like India is poor in cricket, It's much bigger than what you think and there are nearly 250+ players playing in Ranji every season and to tell you everybody got talent.

Indian domestic sides are capable enough to beat the domestic sides of nearly all countries, so those statements were purely ████ which states than India wouldn't do good without Overseas players.

- I know it won't work.
- I haven't studied any social since couple of yeras, so I dunno all those Curves:p.
- And the fact which remains is India has now reached top spot in Tests and is fluctuating between 3rd and 2nd spots in ODi's only because of IPL. Many local youngsters came into limelight and many people saw the talent of Indian domestic players in Ranji Trophy, which helped in India to gain the top spot.
Of course, the revolution came before IPL (in ICC World T20 2009), but the raw domestic talent came into limelight just after IPL.

Example:
I din't knew Rohit Sharma before he played for India.
But now, I know many domestic players, who compete for Indian spot.

Well, IPL is one of the revolution in Cricket. I don't see why the IPL is hated in such a way. It makes the young cricketers's talent come out, leaving the monetary matters though. I guess on regional basis, this league should be conducted in every cricket playing region.

Like..
A league which features teams from Australia and New Zealand.
A league which features teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh.
A league which features teams from South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe.
A league which features teams from Europe (England, Netherlands, Ireland etc etc)
A league which features teams from total American continent (West Indies, America, Bermuda etc etc).

And please stop talking about money because when India, one of a country, which is believed to be poor is able to do it, its not a big matter for others like England/Australia.
What are you even talking about here? You quoted me, then started rambling about stuff un-related to what I even said! I didn't mention IPL at all. I was talking about the Champions league having one team from each of the 8 test playing nations. Only then would there actually be an actual point to it other than that. Right now the only point is to show off IPL teams and make money. I don't mind the making money bit, but there needs to be a point to it other than that. This tournament doesn't show what domestic team is the best, neither does it show what country has the best domestic teams. For that to happen there must be an even playing field.

As said by you, equality must be maintained, and the extra team unfortunately is the IPL team, for which I said that.
IPL is a tournament, which is respected even highly than ICC World T20.
You all people see it as if its un touchable thing. But did any one of you think that there is some great thing in it, which has out beaten the T20 World Cup, which needs to be respected?

^ wtf are you on about now??? Who would rate the IPL higher than the T20WC? Apart from Indians?

I hate arguing with stupid people.

Only in terms of money.:laugh
Sorry, but I agree with Binnu. I know that it may sound idiotic, but people in India are much more excited for IPL rather than the T20 WC.
It so happens that people don't even know about the WC even before a week of its start, but the news and craze of IPL starts building very soon, probably a month before IPL's start.

I don't say that IPL is a bigger event than the WC, but here, the craze for IPL is too large.

Depends on India's performance in the T20 WC. If India does well IPL is nothing in front of T20 WC craze. Where were you when India won in 2007? Did you look outside at the streets in 10 in the night to see the celebrations? IPL can't get that big.

Well, speaking the truth, I was one of them on the roads with some of my friends and others I don't know when India won the T20 WC. :p
But that craze begins when India reaches the semis.

And during IPL, people go mad. BIZARRE...!!

There is also a matter of India having a billion people that absolutely love cricket. Australia has what 30 million? and as popular as cricket is there are sports just as popular if not more. In India cricket is absolute #1.
As I have always said for any trophy thats called the Champions League, Why are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams in it? As far as I know those arent champions, just first and 2nd loser.

I will follow this mainly because of Guyana. To see how they do and how they represent Caribbean cricket. It would be great if another West Indian team went deep into the tournament.

He makes it difficult that's for sure. I don't know why I keep replying to him, I mean what the heck is this supposed to mean

It's hard to argue with people that talk nonsense.

It's pretty obvious why the develop some of the finest batsmen, because their pitches these days are absolute roads.
Have you also realised that they haven't had a world class bowler for donkey's years.

The IPL is what has stuffed up world cricket.
I know they had to bring it in otherwise everyone would have gone to the ICL, but because of the whole ICL/IPL saga, world cricket is getting screwed over.

Yes it does some great things for Indian, but it's also a fact that it's killing the game in other countries, becuase India has the ability to buy out the ICC, and buy out of countries players for their teams.

Disagree. The likes of Tendulkar, Laxman and most of their TEST match players are great players wherever they play. Its the next generation that is a bit of worry. Raina looks to be one for the future, and Kohli could be too, but I need to see how he does outside the subcontinent.
