A proper champions league would have 8 teams, with the winning side from each of the 8 main countries T20 competitions.

It's an absolute joke when you have 3 teams from one country, and one or no teams from other countries.

The concept is not about finding the best T20 doemstic team, but rather it's all about making more money.

I hope User2010 doesn't mind this, but to me, its feel as if he doesn't have a very good social life and all he does is posts false thoughts just to make other people feel how grown up he is. :)

Now I have two of them from you. Keep 'em coming bloke.
I don't think he can neg rep you twice in a row. But because you're so keen I'll do it for you :)

And yeah I agree with Callums post, but this tournament wasn't set up to find the best team from all countries combined unfortunately. As he said it should be the top team from the 8 test playing nations, deciding the top domestic team in the world. Home players playing for home teams etc. I would actually watch that!

Sadly the Indian domestic structure is too weak for something like this. The Indian fanbase wants a slog-a-thon, and want to see top overseas players playing for their homesides.

I'm not sure how much income you would generate if your idea was in place, and the viewership would be low too. So really this tournament is for the Indians to watch and root on their home teams to waste the rest of the world. I dont see this happening though, I have a strong feeling that it'll be Victoria vs Warriors in the final.

Why does it matter what the Indian fan base wants?

If you want a more global fan base they should move away from the "IPL model".
The ICC should stand up to the BCCI, having the IPL is fine even though I hate it, but if the Champions League is going to be anything more than a joke like the IPL is, they need to not give a ████ about what India wants, and rather move towards what NZ/PAK/WI/SL want.
Pretty much ATM it's all about Eng/Aus/Ind/SA, and that's fine to some extent, but they're never going to gain a global fan base if it's all about India and pleasing the Indian fan base.

I understand the IPL has to be sanctioned, as if it wasn't the ICL saga would start all over again, but I don't see why the Champions League has to be a joke like the IPL is...
Surely the ICC can do something about it, instead of just being taken over by the BCCI.

A reason why the viewership will be high in India is because they've brought other countries decent players and they have three/ten teams in it, if NZ had three full strength DOM teams there I'm sure the NZ viewership would be much higher, and same goes for PAK/SL/WI.

In the end it all really comes back to money, and there's a good chance the BCCI is paying the ICC to partake in all this BS.

Justice will be served IF, none of the Indian sides make it to the final or 1 is in the final and loses again.

Well, we'll see that how Indian teams will fair.
And I wouldn't have expected that comment from Callum if 3 NZ would've been participating but meh.............................

Let anyone thing whatever he wants and I do not respect his opinion.

I've seen much ████ in the thread already, surely there will be a better place when it will undergo.

No use, they will blame it on the overseas players then. Honestly, if a Indian team wins or even reaches the semis, I'm pretty much sure that overseas players would have played a huge part there.
So, if White makes RCB win the CLT20, it's indeed Australia's victory as they have found a player for their team.
I would love it if Indian locals contribute something, not only the overseas players and national stars.

His comments were perfectly justified, and I personally back his sentiments as well.

Precisely. I'd rather watch some Indian player get a 50 to win RCB the game other than Taylor score one over CD. What irony.

Tbh India has the players to compete with the stronger domestic teams but thats what happens when private companies take charge over sport clubs.

I suggest it'd be fair if the Indian teams would be the winners and runners of "Syed Mustaq Ali T20 Cup" along with the winners for IPL (It'll be totaled to three teams, but the domestic talent of India would come out).

The teams from Syed Mustaq Ali trophy are Maharastra (Not Mumbai), the winners and Hyderabad, the runners. No overseas business. And no Bucks business here, cause these boards are poorest!

Why would that be fair? Shouldn't all countries have the same number of teams to make an interesting tournament that has a point to it.

I agree with Dan. I would love to see Pakistan playing in CLT20.:(

Well, IPL is one of the revolution in Cricket. I don't see why the IPL is hated in such a way. It makes the young cricketers's talent come out, leaving the monetary matters though. I guess on regional basis, this league should be conducted in every cricket playing region.

Like..
A league which features teams from Australia and New Zealand.
A league which features teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh.
A league which features teams from South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe.
A league which features teams from Europe (England, Netherlands, Ireland etc etc)
A league which features teams from total American continent (West Indies, America, Bermuda etc etc).

And please stop talking about money because when India, one of a country, which is believed to be poor is able to do it, its not a big matter for others like England/Australia.
