Okay, so from what sample set are you basing that theory on? Cos I could put money on it not being. And how is my blunder 'great' you have singled out one integer - conveniently I might add - when actually I said '3-4.' Notice the 3

As said earlier, I won't be talking anything on ECB and PCB's relations with Champions League.

BTW Lenox Crush?? Really, Lenox Cush. As for the Poll the player should decide but if I was in that situation I would play for my home team/country/state.

WHY THE fearsome tweak DO YOU THINK THAT CENTRAL COULD PAY $200k AND THEY'D GET TAYLOR. THAT IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING I HAVE HEARD.

That is clearly untrue. They have no choice but to let him go. I'm sure they would prefer that he plays for them. Central don't get a great amount of the 200k, and if they went further in the tournament with Taylor's help they get more money don't they?

Like everyone has been saying, Kallis, Taylor, White all would have preferred to play for their home teams. And I find extremely disappointing that they are not given this opportunity. Wouldnt it been better for Indian Cricket to play an Indian youngster instead of one of these three?

Pretty sure White said he's disappointed not to play for Victoria, read about it on Cricinfo. And I agree the regulations around the whole issue are pretty stupid and a major advantage to Indian teams. Like I've said before, the IPL has never discovered talent despite claiming to unearth Indian talent - it's only a platform where they've got noticed. Even the lesser known Indian talents like the Saurabh Tiwarys and the Manish Pandeys were highlighted as major batting talents at the youth level until they burst onto the scene in the IPL, some just take a bit more time to break into their first teams or to adjust to domestic cricket or have significant domestic records but are just not acknowledged by selectors.

And, it's not like these teams can't play full-fledged, talented teams. Karnataka have the likes of Jaggi and Arunkumar on the sidelines, or at least had, who have great domestic records in limited over tournaments. The only issues with an Indian team is an all-rounder, and I can understand one overseas spot in the eleven and perhaps two in the fifteen being allowed for that(this would also help strengthen teams like Central Districts a bit I guess - give them a chance to field another matchwinner), but it should be the same for every single team in that case.

Regardless, I hope Bangalore win, because they're my home team. But, I'd be more than happy if the Indian players actually play more of a part in winning the tournament than the Kallises and the Whites. In any case, on the whole, I'm more interested in seeing how the talented Indian youngsters in these teams perform. Ashwin, Vijay, Pandey, Saurabh, Rayudu, Nayar and even Uthappa to name a few off the top of my head. Also interested in seeing a bit of Jonathan Foo myself.

Edit: Central didn't have a choice. Also, pretty sure White would've picked Victoria if he had the choice.

They are rules to retain a player sorry, nothing created by me or any other
CLT20 supporter.
Even I agree that its most idiotic thing I've ever heard.

I think your've been misinformed because that isn't a rule. Central or any other team for that matter have no say when a IPL team decides they want to retain a certain player.

Indeed, why would anyone let facts get in the way......cant believe the rubbish in this thread, even these days with all the information you could ever want available at your fingertips, it doesnt always result in an increase in intelligence.

Really? Because you seemed quite for the rule before hand?

"One can argue the merits of the case but that is the rule. They (CLT20) may be thinking of changing the rule in future."

Binnu added 2 Minutes and 5 Seconds later...

And...
Kallis' contract (with Bangalore) says if his IPL team gets into the CLT20 his team has the first option
