This is the first time, in the last 5 years, in which Adil Rashid has been dropped from Yorkshire's first time. The reason being given to us is that he hasn't progressed the way management would like, plus he has only taken 9 wickets from 6 first class appearances.....you may say that is reason enough but I think it is utter crap. Rashid to date, has 289 wickets at an average of 34 over the course 85 matches. Add to that his 5 centuries and 20+ 50s and you get a player who is without a doubt one of the best in the county. Did I mention his only 24?? The grounds for which Rashid has been dropped are ludicrous. What are your thoughts?

Depends what their medium term thinking is. If Yorkshire is thinking that dropping him down a level for a couple of games might get his confidence back, then I've got no problem with it. If they think he's crap period - then yeah it does seem a bit odd.

This will probably see him move counties at the end of the season. It is a shame really, since he was a promising prospect when he first came into FC cricket and I think he's been a victim of poor management. You look at various things, such as how his action has changed over the years and Yorkshire telling the ECB not to select him for England squads. You get the impression he hasn't been backed by Yorkshire and that has led to drops in form and confidence.

He still has plenty of time and I'm sure he'll back.

Great points. Yorkshire have treated him like a spare part over the years. The comments that came from Boycott after Rashid was dropped were far too harsh. It looks like the plan on keeping him out for a long time. Yorkshire's management is diabolical at times.
