Who are your picks?

Oh yeah forgot Sam Northeast. I picked him in a similar thread a good 6-8 months ago. He played against my club in a Bunbury game, looks a top bat.

The name rings a massive bell, I think I may have played with him at Kent U11 level, not sure though.

there's been a bit of talk about this kervezee guy from the netherlands.. havent really seen any of him but apparently he is the goods?

Salman Butt - Stylish Lefty, the Aussies will remember the 100 he made against them. Too bad PCB took him out after some bad innings. Still if he is given the chance he should be good. His domestic performances show a lot of Talent.

Mansoor Amjad - This lad looked amazing in the Under 19 WC. His bowling was good and he is a hard-hitter which is always useful for a team like Pakistan.

Jamshed Ahmed - This guy is a carbon copy of Wasim Akram. His hair, his style, and bowling. A few good training sessions and practice matches to groom this lad would be really good for Pakistan's pace future.

Anwar Ali - Swing.

Rudra Pratap Singh - Has impressed a lot so far in this Npower Test Series with England, getting the wickets of Michael Vaughn and Kevin Pietersen, including a wonderful five-for rocking England's middle order. He gets the ball to move both ways of the seam and swinging the ball. To me he looks like a left-handed Glenn McGrath.

Indian fans really don't like to put pressure on their 'stars' do they?

He's being sarcastic.

Sureshot is suggesting that not only has Singh to develop his game (as anyone else does) but will also have to deal with unrealistic hype and pressure from the Indian supporters (due to their passionate nature).

You can't deny that Indian cricketers get an unsurreal amount of over-hype? They have lot's of good cricketers but the pressure on up and coming players is immense and has effected many careers.

RP Singh is a talent, but how can you realistically say he could be the next McGrath? The greatest fast bowler of our generation.

I agree that it's totally mental and the only near comparison I can find is that of the England football manager.

yes i know, they give a lot of encouragement to the youngtsers, but then too much turns into pressure.

RP "Swing"- Fantastic comeback to the international scene in England during the ongoing nPower test series. Picked up a 5-fer in the home of Cricket-Lords, and has recently made Kevin Pietersen his "bunny"

Dinesh Karthik- A 'keeper, an awesome fielder, and a sensational batsman. urned cemented into India's team in both forms of the game- An aggressive yet solid opening bat in the whites, and the aggressive middle order hitter in the blue. Future captain, IMO.

Wasim Jaffer- Solid test opening bat. Compliments Dinesh well. Has awesome strokes all over the ground. Good temperment.

Sreesanth-Aggressive. Has what it takes to be a real "fast" bowler. Needs to get in control of his emotions to truly be his best. He was at his peak in South Africa, both with the ball and with his dance moves.

Mohammad Asif- A fantastic swing bowler. Gets bounce, cut, and swing in any condition. Brought Tendulkar down to his knees once.
Needs to get off the drugs first though :p

Piyush Chawla- India's big hope for the next spinner. Turns the ball a mile, and confunded Sachin with a googly in the Challenger series. Fantastic prospect.
