PRESENTATION CEREMONY

UK: What a game of cricket we have here in Mumbai, we came here expecting a great game and we weren't disappointed. After all the excitement can i call upon the captain of the West Indies captain Clive Lloyd to come to the stage.

Crowd said:

UK: Clive, what a game of cricket we have witnessed here, i bet you were shocked when they scored 392 when you put them into bat.

Clive Lloyd said:
Yeah, what a game, i mean it was a great crowd pleaser. When we put them into bat, we had great self-belief and thought we could chase down anything they made.

UK: Well at one point i'd say you were on top, when you took the 2 quick wickets they had 2 new men at the crease.

Clive Lloyd said:
Yeah we thought we had them on the backfoot, i mean both Ponting and Bradman were new to the crease and we thought if we could get either of them out quickly we would be alright. But the Don took it away from us, i mean what can u do, we had the fielders where we generally hits it, but he is just a quality batsman and our bowlers could do nothing to stop him.

UK: What was the feeling like when you came in from that sort of batting performance from the aussies.

Clive Lloyd said:
Well we were all down. We had lost some of our self beleif and i feel that some of us thought that we had lost already. We had a slow start, well slow first 15 when we really needed to attack, and it was just not right from then on. Brian played very well and took the attack to the aussies. But i was reasonably happy with us scoring 310, and we know where we can improve next time.

UK: Ladies and Gentlemen Clive Lloyd. Now can i call upon the Aussie captain and today's man of the match for his blistering hundred which took the game away from the West Indies.

Crowd said:

UK: Don what a performance today not just by you but by the team. How well did you expect to go.

Don Bradman said:
Well we were extremely confident going into the game, and we felt we could do well in this tournament. We played well today, the batting was top notch, i don't think we could improve more.

UK: Going into this match there was lots of talk about Adam Gilchrist, where he was going to bat, how he was going to play.

Don Bradman said:
Yeah over the last week or so the tabloids have been getting on adam's back, and he went out there today and showed everyone what sort of innings he can play. We have seen him play the destructive innings in the past but he played controlled shots, and that was the way we wanted him to play, to build up his confidence.

UK: Did you think the West Indies stood any chance of winning when you hit that big a score.

Don Bradman said:
Well the West Indies are a great side, and they showed it. To come out after being pummelled for that many runs and show enough character to hit 310 on a deteriorating surface. I thought Brian played extremely well, but our bowlers bowled well especially warney. But things are looking bright for the future.

UK: Well all that there is left for you to do now Don is to collect your cheque and your magnum of champagne.

Don Bradman said:
Lovely, Jubbly thank you

UK: Thank you for joining us here in Mumbai, to see a fascinating contest join us soon for more Champions Trophy action.
