Story All Time Competition, Weekly Contest(cricsim)

you can't bring in waquar because he wasn't in your original 15 man squad for the tournament, you are only allowed to use your 15 man squad

Unlcuky Jaztheman. :p

Nice performance from England who are certainly firm favourites for this competition.

i wouldnt go that far at all. england had a good performance from alec stewart but the key reason for pakistan's loss was the batting lineup. 280 should have been chased down with the talent in the paki squad. waquar not being in the 15 is a crime in itself. he would have been my 3rd or 4th bowler picked

yes it will, i am just about to start preparing it, give me 30-1hr

MATCH PREVIEW, SRI LANKA VS NEW ZEALAND

The picturesque setting of Bombay

IK: Hello and welcome to another of our preview shows, where today here in Bombay is the last of the opening round of games. We have been enthrulled with some amazing batting and some canny bowling, and today i am joined by two players who are young and fiery and want to get into the legends side, i am joined by Dilshan Fernando, and Hamish Marshall. Hello and welcome to the Setanta Sports studio.

DF: Thank you, for letting me to come here today.

HM: Me, likewise.

IK: What do u make of the tournament so far?

HM: In the batting department we have seen some amazing hitting, not just from the big men, Bradman is a prime example of this he is tiny but his batting sixes was amazing. We saw some great batting by Lara in the same game, and Dravid in the first. Then in the last game Stewart and Boycott held the innings together.

DF: In the bowling department most of the bowlers have been expensive. But a few of them have still bowled very well and have been unlucky. We have seen the Speed Demon bowl well, i think he has been the best so far.

IK: Who do you think have look the best so far then?

DF: Well discoutning these 2 i would say England, they batted and bowled well against a good Pakistan batting line-up. The Aussies look good, but they were expensive.

HM: I'd have to agree with that, i mean England have played good cricket, but i think the new zealanders will be like that today.

IK: Onto the newspaper coverage, but there has been little compared to the other teams. The only thing that has featured is that of the age of the Sri Lankans bolwing attack of Malinga and Mahroof being two weak links??

DF: Well i have played with and against these two, it is a big step up playing against the best, but they are in the team for a reason.

IK: Here are the two team sheets for you two to cast your eyes over.

NEW ZEALAND, the underdogs
1) S.Fleming
2) N.Astle
3) Martin Crowe
4) B.Mcmillan
5) Richard Hadlee
6) Chris Cairns
7) L.Germon ( Wicket Keepr )
8) Vettori
9) Geoff Allott
10) Simon Doull
11) Shane Bond

Winding up to hit another six?

HM: Well this is a good new zealand line-up. I mean you have 4 great top order players. Astle will look to score quickly and fleming will look to bat for most of the innings. The you have the cpable Crowe and McMillan who are both good batsmen. Then you have perhaps the greatest all rounder to come out of New Zeland, Hadlee fully able with Bat and Ball. Then you have the man with the 2nd most sixes in test cricekt which should tell you about his capability. Then the wickie is higher up than i thought he should be, vettori should be higher i feel. Then after your spinner you have the 3 other bowlers, which we know what to expect wickets. Bond the injury prone prodigy is fast and furious.

SRI LANKA, the young-guns

2.ST Jayasuriya

4.MS Atapattu
5.DPMD Jayawardene

8.C Vaas

10. MF Maharoof
11.SL Malinga

Off Spin King

DF: This is a very good batting line-up. You have the pace at the top and they will all look to score quickly. Arjuna is very good at destroying the opening bowlers if he gets going. The same with Jayasuriya, and he can give you the option of the quick spin balls which are flat and difficult to face. You have a great middle-order who all have scored runs and lots of them. Attapatu is back into the side after a lengthy injury. You have Jayawardene who is probably one of the players of 2006. De Silva, Sri Lanka's Mr Reliable, if they ever needed him to be. You then have Sangakarra, this team is so good he has been demoted to 7. Then you have the all round ability of Vaas. He is good with the bat, but better with the ball. Murali is well-known and we know what to expect, but then you have the 2 "in-experienced" bowlers, who will take wickets.

IK: OK thank you gents. Predictions?

HM: i am going to go for a New Zeland win, it will be tight.

DF: Again, it has been said before so i will say it again, win the toss and bat.

IK: Thank you, join us soon for the match coverage
