The team looks good enough... It could have been better if not for the rushed picks of Stuart Broad and Jonny Bairstow, but yeah.

Bairstow is the one that stands out as a bit of an odd pick and not in the same class as the rest of the side, but that’s a bloody good team

As IF Eddie Paynter made it to the last round.

I didn't even think to pick him because he had to be gone already

Eddie Paynter and Robin Smith were the two players I was most upset about not fitting into my own XI and couldn’t believe how long it went without either of them being picked.[DOUBLEPOST=1607365967][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and that 90s bowler still hasn’t been picked!

Does nobody remember Melbourne???

:eng: :wk: Ben Foakes

Test stats: 332 runs @ 41.50 (1 century, best 107) and 12 dismissals (10 catches, 2 stumpings) in 5 matches
First-class stats: 5,701 runs @ 38.78 (10 centuries, best 141*) and 253 dismissals (224 catches, 29 stumpings) in 111 matches

One of the most baffling continued non-selections in recent England history, Ben Foakes is worth his place in the side as a skilful and composed batsman, as well as an electric keeper who will probably be able to stand up to the stumps against three of our four main bowlers, effectively trapping the batsmen in their crease. That will make him a valuable offensive weapon. I'm not in the least bit put off by his very limited Test experience, even the small sample size means that Shane Dowrich and Jason Holder completely nuke Foakes' batting VARP.

Dean Headley?

Indeed. Toss up for me between Jones and Headley, went for Jones due to extra pace and reverse, but Headley was a fantastic bowler and like Jones robbed of hundreds of test wickets by injuries.

And Foakes is a great pick, and I endorse every word you wrote. Miles better than Bairstow and Buttler in both disciplines.
