Andrew Flintoff Now a Boxer

He may have won, but he has the worst punching technique I've ever witnessed, he should hang the gloves up, it was a complete embarrassment :facepalm

Like watching 2 pissed blokes on a Friday night having a punch up.

I'd say 2 pissed women having a punch up.

I watched the highlights of the match, he punches so bad,

Who has been teaching him how to punch? I can punch better than that, and all I've had is some boxing lessons at a local gym. As well as that, he wasn't using any of his advantages - he's a big tall guy, so he should be getting behind the jab. I don't recall him jabbing all that much at all - he seemed to be trying to get inside all the time.

I honestly couldn't believe what I saw

He was so bad, he has been training for at least 6 months, it looked like he had put the gloves on for the first time that day

I really hope he retires now, he is disgracing himself and boxing

Give him some time before criticizing. He could have been nervous as it was his first game. The fact that he won is itself enough for me to praise him.

Do me a favour!

He is entering a sport which literally has a strong chance of severe injury or even death

He has no technique and no potential do be anything other than an average amateur, if he carries on he will get a good beating that is for certain.

And we're talking the heavyweight division as well - the division where you're most likely to pick up a serious head injury. It was a fun gimmick, but I wouldn't continue if I was him. Don't end up being remembered as the guy who was retired from boxing by a serious injury, instead of as the world class England cricketing legend.

I wouldn't mind Fintoff vs Tendulkar in a boxing match. It would certainly be one place Tendulkar would be the underdog!

Fantasy cricket boxing matches I'd love to see:

Matthew Hayden vs Harbhajan Singh (or Yuvraj Singh)
Graeme Smith vs Shane Warne
Andrew Symonds vs Sreesanth

All of those are ridiculously one sided.
