EB Games website confirms this (re PS# didn't check the others)...

Also called JB Hi-Fi who confirmed that release date for PS3 is the 6th (and price is $79)
Well thats great, makes up for them not releasing a demo for the PS3. And yes I checked the PC & 360 and they are released on the 13th still.
I know...
went into EB last week and they said 13th... but right now website says 6th... and like i said, gave JB a call just now and they told me 6th with a price of $79...
Remember I only asked re PS3... not any other platform...
Called EB Games as well... guy first told me 13th... then he checked the system and said it's been changed to the 6th... their price in $99.95

If they had copies then wouldnt that Eon fellow have gotten one? I remember him saying that as soon as the store has it he will take his copy home.
Didn't ask... but the fact that 2 competing stores (Eb and JB) located within a few metres of each other in the heart of the city (The Galleries Victoria, Sydney CBD) both confirmed a release date that is now just over a week away is a strong indication don't you think?
Might head over to JB after work tonight and pre-order and ask them if the date is confirmed 100%...

Really weird. I don't get why the PS3 would be one date, and the Xbox another?
Maybe a tradeoff for the demo?

Atari have realised that releasing the game after 4 of the 5 test are done is a stupid idea...
Or
They're just messing ith the minds of PS3 owners trying to get our hopes up before dashing them to tiny pieces
