I am giving an idea just like a civil servant . The only one to implement it would be administrators. They know better site management than me. If they can add thanks button , reps so they can add this too.


I just gave an idea, I am not telling you to accept it and implement it. I'll wait to see what mods think about this.

You know what's worse than spam? People posting in response to people they think are spamming and telling them off. This is far more annoying than the people who they are complaining about.

As found when we experimented with extremely tight controls on posting in the C07 forum, that what many consider spam is actually quite important in motivation for people making good downloads. As such, even though there is the thanks button, the only sort of posts that should be reported are ones where they clearly have not read the thread, like saying great work when nothing has been released (and the like).

Saying thanks for something isn't spam in itself.

If people start taking a thread way off course, then there's an issue, otherwise what you are considering spam is fine.

Staff can see the staff forum, access modcp, award infractions and menial stuff like that As far as I know, globies and admins are basically the same thing just they have a seperate forum from the staff forum and can access site features to edit them

Global Admins have control over the entire forum I think and staff only have control over the areas they are assigned to.

Can someone do something about the reputation system? I try to leave positive feedback/reputation for good posts and all I get is a message saying I need to spread it around - how can I? I've virtually given reputation to everyone who deserves it, how many posters does it take ffs?!? And surely it should be on merit not on spreading it about, if you give it to everyone then what exactly is the point?

How about you can't give it to the same person more than twice in a day and no more than five times a week/fortnight? I'm not doing it on a "buddy" principle, just on merit and I'm unable to do so because the system is HITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITSHITS

I think 10. The limit is in there because we can't do something like you suggest with specific sorts of time limits or limits on amounts over time, which would have been better.
