Stokes said that they met up in the night club in the end. Seems like a bit of media driven outrage.

I am just glad customs stay customs. The world we live in sees less and less of our old customs stay true to itself. This was one heck of a series for both Australia and England as well as all test cricket fans. Unfortunately England got the brunt of weather or else maybe we could have seen a different end result.

While taking nothing away from Australia, they were the best side in the first two tests and England finally got Woakes back things changed drastically. In the end England did lose 2 games at home, similar to 2019 series. Australia are however 12-4 in the last 4 cycles so they definitely get to retain the Ashes.

England's true test would be down under. Most of the core 4 fast bowlers should still be around and England really have a tough away schedule with South Africa, New Zealand and India. This is their time to prove. Playing bazzball kind of cricket would mean nothing if they miss a 3rd WTC finals in a row despite playing the most entertaining form of cricket. Plus they should be the most motivated as the finals keep happening in England and would be a home game for them.

Australia in the end were Australia, ruthless and at the same time incompetent and lost once given back. Similar thing happened with them against India in the two down under series, once they lost few players in the first one and India gave them the answer in the second series, they lost the plot.

Presume you are referring to the Aussies core bowlers being around in 2025. England will need to rebuild our pace attack for the next Ashes down under which will be a massive job

Yes Aussie core bowlers will be around so England will have a task in front of them. No offense but English bowling was pretty weak. If not for Woakes and Wood, they would have been struggling in the last two tests. They gave them crucial runs and breakthroughs.

Even as an Aussie if the first test in 2025 involves Archer, Robinson, Tongue and Leach, surely the poms would be alright? Also are player like Stones, Curran, Overton etc not rated in England?
