Ashes-2023 England VS Australia 16 June-31 July

So no reflective circumspection to be read any where from the England team: this is the way we play mantra on autoplay.

I was thinking about the predicament that England find themselves in. I remember the last Ashes thinking if this Australia team played in England tomorrow they'd win four nil. Then, after more embarrassment in the West Indies, things turned round. It's largely the same players (Duckett and Brook are the only new faces) so did the players get better or did the results get better, courtesy of some all time great performances?

The big let down has been the choice of wicketkeeper. Nothing personally against Johnny but the changed a specialist to accomodate him and it hasnt gone well. The missed catches in the field and the general lack of snap in the fielding has been detrimental. Robinson Broad, Anderson arent excatly going to give you much zip in the field let alone the bowling. England have relied too much on reputation rather than form.

I'll keep trashing England and you boys can thank me later! :p

If England......match still on.......grasp the momentum....etc etc etc

To be fair, Anderson is possibly the all time best fielder of any England specialist quick. He's not as sharp as he was at 25 but he's still pretty useful.

I am being very disengenuous indeed and couldn't have done better.....my place is slagging everything off in my armchair resting my inappropriately large bowl of Maltesers on my inappropriately large flabby belly.

Daft batting from Australia. Way to piss away a lead.
