Brook quoted as saying the dressing room thought 250 would be a good score. I was thinking more like 325 was par.
Playing for the draw againThe Aussies are doing the thing where they just go overtly negative again.
I guess Marnus did his job thenI think its very clever, just tire the English bowlers out than let our aggressive middle order feast. 500+ incoming leading to an innings victory for Australia. 3-1 happy days.
How he keeps being given the gloves blows me away, another one of the major flaws of Bazball being showed by refusing to pick Foakes. Bairstow should bat 3 and ship Ali off. Root is a better bowler. Foakes best keeper in the country. No surprises that sequence of events happened in the end. Bairstow really is a poor, poor keeper.
I think I'm just trying to justify what I'm watching... lolI guess Marnus did his job then

Not surprised, seems only people that don't see it is Stokes, McCullum and their selectors. We’ve had whole essays written on that very topic.
It'll be interesting to see what the do for the India tour, given our spinners aren't the best we'll want a sharp keeper to take as any opportunities as possible. Much like these last three matches a lot will probably depend on Ben Stokes' fitness to bowl. Not surprised, seems only people that don't see it is Stokes, McCullum and their selectors.
Has there been any word if Mo is going to keep going after the Ashes with test cricket? It'll be interesting to see what the do for the India tour, given our spinners aren't the best we'll want a sharp keeper to take as any opportunities as possible. I think he's said this would be his last test, so I highly doubt he'd change his mind. With a World Cup, various T20 leagues over the winter I doubt he'd want a test tour away as well.Has there been any word if Mo is going to keep going after the Ashes with test cricket?
No offense but it’s such a washed up narrative, A: Moeen batting at 3 has worked and playing with Joe Root as our leading spinner has never worked ever for England and not how we play especially since we need the extra bowler with stokes being able to bowl. B: the Foakes debate only exists on Twitter and not actually in the England team, Bairstow was never not going to return after last year, Brook took his spot and he wasn’t getting dropped. People stupidly wanted to fudge Bairstow or stokes as opener instead of Crawley (look how foolish that looks now). Also Foakes just doesn’t seem like a fit for this team now, there were many times where he could have kicked on and played more in our style but he always played in his more conservative way which I feel like ticked off the England set up. If he had got us over the line in NZ he might have had more of a chance. Not surprised, seems only people that don't see it is Stokes, McCullum and their selectors.
