They said they don't expect him to be consistent, so many players over the years who would love that attitude from their captain and coach. You can see why Crawley is persisted with, but how long will Stokes and Baz tolerate the inconsistency?

I think there would have been more scrutiny if they weren't winning. There are players scoring runs but those who are doing best are in the middle order after they've dropped Foakes, 3-7 looks pretty settled. Jennings is in the runs but they preferred giving Duckett the openers spot to picking him in Pakistan. But let's be honest, they can afford to do that with the quality and the results they have produced for 18 months. If bazz-ball wasn't working out, or they had a much better option waiting in the ranks (often the case for Indian cricket with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran etc. waiting in the ranks) they wouldn't be able to persist with the likes of Crawley.
What happened, I was mowing the lawn?Lyon‘s injury could be massive, not just for this game but for the rest of the series. Murphy’s got good potential but he’ll be under the pump once a few blokes start hitting against him.

Cursed by all the talk of 100 games in a rowPulled a muscle while fielding.

Duckett's number since he came back into the side are amazing: 15 innings, 63 average at 92.85 strike rate.
He's got a better strike rate in tests, in the last 12 months, than 21 of the 27 ODI openers to play 10 innings in that time. You’d say those were world class numbers for an opener in ODIs.
Except he’s gone and done it in tests. What a madman.
You know Stokes is gonna get out just like the restEngland just walking into it...why?
