Ashes Cricket 2011 Wishlist

The edges shouldn't occur if the timing is poor (as in Ashes Cricket 2009). I would like to see edges because the batsman has played down the wrong line - even if the shot is perfectly timed, you could edge the ball. This could also mean that more edges carry as the ball travels further with better timing.

7)Please play Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 game. See its Create-A-Finisher option. There a finisher is divided into 9 or 10 parts. You select how player would start finisher then add the various move together to create a unique finisher. This theory can be used in cricket game to give unbelievable results.
But for this you have to include more MOCAPs of every shot. Atleast 6 mocaps would do great. those 6 would be individual batting style of 6 unique players today whose style differ a lot(i guess Ponting,Sachin,Pietersen,Sehwag,Yuvraj,De Villeirs, Hayden,). Then in Create-a-player mode you would allow user to select how his player would play cover drive, how he would play lofted hook and so on. This would enable users to create players with unbelievably diverse styles. Imagine a player who
play straight drive, leg glance like Sachin, Hook ,lofted on drive like pietersen, Slog sweep like Yuvraj..
Another game to look at is Top Spin 3, you can choose serves, forehand and backhand shots you want your player to play, It can be the same for Cricket but bowling action, front foot shots and back foot shots.

Cheerleaders for T20 matches.

Some nice features:

1)Fully Licensed:All international teams to be licensed. Not only for the world cup as in Blc 07, but for all formats of the game.

2)Stats tracking system:All players can have the stats tracking so if we hit a century in a game then it gets added up in his no.of.100s list.

3)Career Mode/Season Mode:A career mode were we control a single player througthout the game and improve his skills. Or else atleast a season mode where we captain a single international team and play many future matches, by FTP method. For this ICC rankings should be included.

4)Presentation Ceremony:Presentation ceremony after each match, where one of the commentators distributes the Man-of the-Match, highest no.of sixes(for T20 matches)...etc,

5)Realistic Crowds:More no.of unique people in crowds, people holding Different signs, Cheering a team or a player as he comes in to bat, in the verge of hitting a century,etc,...

sibis added 1 Minutes and 23 Seconds later...

Few extra features:

1)Pitch report/Weather report:Reports about the pitch and weather and their significance can be commented by the commentators so that its easier to choose between during toss.

2)Overlay:The current overlay in Ashes 2009 is very nice, but they can add a few things like, Runs as scored this over(like 4 . 1 wd . 6 .), bowling speeds this over, balls per fifty, frequently occuring card were its shows the current score with strike rate etc of the batsmen,etc,...

3)Celebrations:When a batsman is dismissed a realistic celebration can be shown, when a person hits a century he can celebrate in a more enthusiastic way.

4)Fielding:Flat Catches for fielders in point, square leg, etc...and diving catches that are really natural. Diving stops in the deep, taking a super catch just inches before the boundary line,etc...

5)Drinks Break:Players get a stamina boost after the break.

6)Batting:The batting gameplay is very much better than before, but it can be made better by making the shots look more elegant, the follow-through after each shot should be added(when a drive is played, the whole phase of the bat faces he direction were the ball need to go and finishes over our shoulder in a normal speed).Walking down the wicket(like hayden does)can be added. Few special shots like reverse sweep and scoop shots can be added. Ducking need to be added.

7)Running between the wickets:After each shot the batsman need to relax not become a statue. And after taking a run, the batsman should slide past the line just like the option available in Ashes 2009, but this should be done by the comp every time by itself. The Diving option is really great.

8)Camera Angle:The camera angles have been quite not that good during replays and throws. During replays, the camera should be focussed where the play is and should be zoomed in. Diving Catches need to showed in a more better angle. Fours and sixes need to showed in 3 different angles, though the inclusion of ultramotion for sixes is really great.

9)Umpires:Edges to keeper need to be appealed to the umpire. During runouts, wicket keeper runouts need to be appealed to the leg umpire and the other umpire should be standing along the crease not behind the wicket. The third umpire should give the decision through the grand screen or atleast by signaling lights, not the other two umpires.

10)Game speed:The actual game speed should be adapted(Blc 99 the best i have seen for that).i.e.the bowling run-up and bowling action need to be in a normal speed and the batsman's reaction time need to be normal(as the ball is released, the batsman should react, not after a few fraction of seconds), the batsman speeds up his action as the ball nears(it can be clearly seen in the ultramotion after hitting a six).

11)Lots of animations for players:Many animations can be added to the players, like between balls, rather than a set of 8 or 10 types being played again and again. Fielders need to be cheering the bowler.

12)Pitch wear:Cracks, grass, black spots due to the fast bowlers, can be included so that the spinners can exploit that.

13)Bowling:Bowling gameplay has been done well, and the accuracy meter is also a good idea. But the comp should atleast vary our pace as we could not do that or else there should be 2 meters one for accuracy and another for pace control. Flight can be added to the spinners. In blc 07 the tumbling when a yorker was bowled was good, they can include that also.

14)AI:The game pacing need to be address seriously, because that serves the heart of the game as far as im concerned. A test needs to be scored in a 2 or 3 rpo. The batsman should leave outside off-stump deliveries.
After 3 or 4 early wicket falls, the batsmen should reduce their scoring rate in ODIs. The bowler should bowl more good length deliveries not full length deliveries and he should vary his line and length very much. The field settings should be made according to the shots played by the batsman. Attacking field must be placed early in the innings and for the tail enders(in test cricket). Running between wickets must be more sensible. Especially cricket is a game of 1s and 2s where 4s and 6s are bonuses so the batting team must concentrate on taking singles and doubles until a loose ball is bowled.(this does not implement for T20). The scoring rate needs to be in accordance to the overs in ODIs, they can score about 6-8 in during the powerplay but after the powerplay they should be scoring at 4-6 without taking much risks. After 40 or 45 overs, the team needs to score more than 6 in an over. And while chasing, the scoring rate must be taken seriously by the batting team, they should try score faster if they need 150 of 100 like that.

15)Commentators:The commentators list is a very good one, but they need to be more enthusiastic about the game, they should be at their peek when a huge six is hit or the run rate is going high or if a batsman is in the verge of hitting a century. Includes many things like, crucial or early wickets, winning a thrilling match or if the match proceeds onto the last over. Giving advice about the current situation. More reactive than before.

16)Signature Styles:Signature bowling actions of bowlers need to be adapted, if not for all bowlers they can do it for the main 5 or 6 bowlers for a single team. And the batting style can be adapted for the top order alone(the first 5 or 6 best batsmen for a team).

17)Stump and other physics:The typical way where the stump flies from the ground when the ball strikes at the right part. Moving hair. Moving Flags of the nations playing, on the roof of the stadium and between the crowds. Crowds moving in and out, [4] and [6] card holdings by the crowd.

18)Injuries and form level:Injuries during batting and fielding can be included for realism, retired hurt and not fit for a match options can be added. And the current form of a player(according to his last few matches) should decide his confidence level in a tournament.

yea but the fully licensing is a bit unrealistic... for the fact it would cost WAY too much, and if there is going ot be an ea game coming out soonish then it will most likely be for the champions trophy or something like that... making it even harder for codemasters to get the licensing

most of the other things sound pretty good to me

Full licensing is difficult but it can bring a lot of revenue too.. Just take a look at CODMW2. 200million dollar budget and earned 350 million on day one:eek::eek::eek:

Hate to burst your bubble, but we ask this for every game, my guess is codies will make it the same with a few tweaks, e.g. review system? or ashes tour, nothing more - it needs something revolutionary to implement all of these features

the review system they'll probably screw it up, dead plum balls from the offie spinning into the right hander are shown to be missing the stumps completely by hawkeye. it doesnt account for the drift.

Better thing will be to ask for IPL tournament.
Love the irony :D

Really, we just need more game modes. Ricky Ponting 05 had so many, that was awesome! A career mode would be great, and even a CT, WC, etc!

a quick question what was better brian lara 2007 or ashes cricket 2009 ??

and when can we expect the next cricket game and what wud it be not nessicarily by codies??
