Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

One interesting thing I heard from the interview that Colin did was the number of stadia being somewhere around 28. How many did IC2010 have? I would guess England And Australia would account for around 10-15 of them and the rest of the countries would get around 2 each.

Well you'd think that:

Trent Bridge, Nottingham
Lords, London
Old Trafford, Manchester
Chester Le Street, Durham
The Oval, London
--------------------------
The Gabba, Brisbane
Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
WACA, Perth
Melbourne
Sydney

Would all be on plus prehaps the ODI/T20 stadiums:

Rose Bowl, Southampton
Headingley, Leeds
Sophia Gardens, Cardiff
Hobart

So that's 14 English/Australian stadiums leaving 14 for the rest of the world.

Ashes 2009 had 18 and ic2010 had 21 so up 7 in total, not a bad number.:thumbs

Why would they care that the IPL is over? Surely it'd be better to release the info when the Eng/NZ is on? Get more people interested.

Its not that they care. But I read somewhere that they were waiting for the IPL to get over before releasing certain promotional stuff. (May be a wild guess by someone..am not sure)

Havn't been following the IPL myself. Am not a huge fan of the 20 over game. :rolleyes

I aren't a big fan of the 20/20 game and think it's damaging Test Cricket, not so much over here but In India it used to be full for every day of a Test match now half empty yet 20/20 it's almost always full.

Yeah..People feel they've got a better format of quick entertainment and it happens every year. :facepalm (IPL, CT)

I love cricket, love batting and fielding (am an average medium pace bowler) and love test matches and the 50 over matches (rare these days.)

Would love to play a real test match in a game. I've rarely felt right playing a defensive shot in a game. (EA cricket 2007 did a decent job with the right defensive shot animation and sound)

Just some random rambling. :p

A new low price I've seen for the game on PC - Ashes Cricket 2013 | Video Ezy - $19.96 with $2 shipping in my case.

I don't think I've ever seen a game tumble in price pre-release like this has, and I can't say that fills me with confidence.

"or play as one of 24 other unlicensed teams."

What would those teams be? Apart from the other 8 test teams?

Mongolia, Nicolas Cage XI...

Matt, I'm with you... That price drop is really worrying

...are you asking if it'll be cheaper than 19 bucks?!

Yeah. Legal PC games are available for half that price (including GTA4). This was done as a measure to reduce piracy.

GTA4 especially was available for Rs.500. I know its a huge company, the volumes at which they sell might have helped them at reducing the price, but the effort was there.

19 bucks is also fine by me. I'll buy this after the reviews though.
