Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Used the sliders to drop foot placement difficulty to 47 and timing to 46 and seems more in my comfort zone. Might nudge them both 1 up and see as I get more practice under my belt.

Having a fantastic game right now. Am playing the 90/91 Ashes tour. 1st test at the Gabba.

Aussies won the toss and batted on a belter - batted all but 1 over of the first 2 days racking up 551/9 declared.

I saw that last over out but then lost 4 wickets in the first session of day 3 slumping to 76-4. Nice 70-odd partnership between Robin Smith and Alec Stewart helps me rebuild, but Smith and Russell fall in the same over before tea to leave me 151/6.

Cue a 149 run partnership between Stewart and Chris Lewis, broken cruelly late in the day with Lewis caught and bowled Hughes for 55. I close day 3 on 302/7, 49 short of follow on.

Stewart brings up his 150 early on day 4, farming the strike from Gladstone Small. Small falls still 20-odd short of follow on.

Stewart still knocking it around, but agonisingly falls lbw to Matthews for 177 and I’m still 5 short of the follow on with Devon Malcom strolling out to going big Gus Fraser at the wicket...

Make those 5 runs, and with the time taken out for Aussies to bat again I might save the game... fail and I have to bat nearly 2 days to get a draw...

The big lads don’t leave me in the lurch!

352/9 an hour into day 4, and I’m off for a lie down!

No secret I had my doubts about BA delivering on this patch, but I’m delighted to say it looks like I was proven wrong. Still niggles for sure particularly around AI field and bowling selection, but the positives are many. Real good tough test cricket! And I remember now just how crap England were in the 90s!

Well done to all involved in this last patch.

is it possible to make Licensed players shoe color white in odis and t20s. In test matches shoe color is white but not for odis, t20s and others.

Hit spinners very late. As the ball bounces start your stroke. That's my top tip for you. Pace is easier to get the hang of.
Not really, too many catches behind... Try as it pitches for better contact but don't play late.

How does the batting with batting sliders off actually work? Does the game play as the devs intended it to play on first release. I've tried batting with sliders both on and off.....and haven't noticed much difference.
In my experience, with sliders off you get a more organic experience. For example, with sliders of you get genuine egdes, whereas with on, you do because of getting rushed on, with Timing slider a little high, forcing you react early. Other batting sliders for ex foot placement difficulty I never really found much of a difference

What have I missed?
