Isn’t every other sports game released annually?

In franchised based sports, every year there are new exciting talents coming in, players get traded and in video games graphics get better, animations get realer and so on. In cricket, barely any changes take place each year. Imagine a convo going like this...

Boy #1: Yo you buying the new Ashes Cricket 2021 ?"
Boy #2:Ummmm What is new this year that is different form Ashes Cricket 2022"
Boy #1: Mohammad Siraj is in this game, Shreyas Iyer looks a little fat and there are 22 new Sri Lankan players from last year"

Quite a few of us had the privilige of having our own surnames added in DBC 17, which was fantastic for our Career modes. Does anyone happen to know if the new commentary team went through the list from DBC 17 again and re-recorded them?
