Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Wild guess - for balance. Perhaps some short deliveries should be played off the back foot and not be reliant on per-meditated front foot selection.

@SnowyCasanova True. But in online competitions, people used to use a simple tactic of just bowling the combo of yorkers / bouncers because of this.. so instead of playing proper cricket, we have been forced to play just mind games and to gamble with shots on each and every delivery.. so its spoiling the fun of enjoying a superb game.. that's why..

A perfect representation of T20 cricket then :P

That is why most sports games are crap online. People will play in the most un-sportsmanlike way they can - if it helps them. This is not strictly an Ashes Cricket Online issue.
But at the same time, The whole point of batting is to play the appropriate shot when it calls for it. You cant just ask for a front foot pull because people are bowling too many bouncers.

I haven played online yet...but if the ball length markers at the time of delivery are available online and are displayed at the right time then there is no need to patch the shots. There should be some element of surprise as well as if all short balls can be played off the front foot then even that is not correct.

Maybe balls till the chest level can be allowed to be pulled off the front foot....anything above that should surely not....and infact should also result in top edges if played off front foot (maybe they already do....I haven batted enough yet to be able to comment)

Sorry I don't come here for a quarrel.

to be honest i was yanking your chain mate.

there is no doubting your creation skills, and they would certainly enhance the game. but the links are such a fundamental thing.

i'm all for fresh starts. hoping you get where we are coming from, make sure the links are right and people will be happy to play with the players.

In fact their were serious linking issues, I remember it was one of my last days at the DBC17 forum here before I came back for Ashes Cricket discussion. I am all for new starts though, if Raj (@rajsvm) can do the linking properly this time then his faces will be in huge demand. Blocker(@blockerdave) and Snowy(@SnowyCasanova), why not give him a chance. Ashes Cricket is a fresh start, let Raj have a fresh start too. Peace.

Of course. I was joking (poorly, as usual).

If he creates players it frees up others to make retro players ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1510654857][/DOUBLEPOST]
This is true, why would @BigAntStudios leave this out? Online is totally dead atm because there are no front foot shots on bouncers legend mod. Please bring it back as @indian_tamizhan is saying and listen to the community plzzzz. Game needs patch before its playable online

what??? if you can't pick length don't play legend you tool.

I mean seriously, what the actual f. The whole point of cricket is exactly to play the shot according to the ball.

And, more to the point - there IS a front foot pull in the game. (For now.)

@asheswonder , @blockerdave ,
If you can, I've the following two requests from retro kits/teams perspective...

1. Benson & Hedges series kits & squads from 1985 - IIRC it was World Championship of Cricket (WCC) tourney.
2. 1992 WC kits & squads.
