I said there wasn't enough runs earlier and I stand by it. It was too much to expect this weak attack to defend 245. Had Pakistan not made a mess of it, it wouldn't have even been this close.

I have a nasty feeling that Indian cricket is on the decline and this slide won't stop till the World Cup. In fact, it may be a repeat of the 2007 World Cup for India.

Dinesh Karthik has proved why he can never be a regular in this team, again... his batting doesn't inspire confidence and neither does his keeping.

What is more worrying is that our bench strength is very poor. Leave aside a couple of good bowlers and a couple of good batsmen and this Indian team looks very, very weak.

By rights we should never have been that close to winning that game. We were a few runs short and our bowling and fielding (which has declined sharply over the last year) didn't seem capable of defending that target. Pakistan for a while tried their best to throw it away, but I felt it was always their game when they had it down to a target of 60-odd with 6 wickets in hand.

Still feels like a tweaking gut punch. Not a merry way to start my Sunday.

I don't believe that our batting bench strength is poor. I believe that we're missing 1 good batsman at the top. Bringing in someone like Pujara and taking out Rohit Sharma would make a huge difference to this team. We bat all the way down to Ashwin, and we have Dhoni and Kohli. Jadeja is a really good finisher as well.

As far as bowling is concerned, I think Shami and Jadeja are talented. Mishra was very interesting today, and he should definitely get a longer run especially considering Ashwin's downfall. We need to find at least one another quick though. Bhuvi wont do. He neither threatens nor contains. But we desperately need another quick. I would choose Yadav over Bhuvi. I would also give chances to Aaron and Pandey over Bhuvi.

Seriously. I have not watched a single match since Tendy retired. But couldn't stop myself from watching Indo-Pak match. I got goosebumps at at least 10 times in the match. And in the last 25 over of pakistan innings. Whenever we got a wicket i was giving finger to my PC and jumping up and down in joy. Really felt great after so many days.
Maybe this is how someone who had a drink after stayed sober for months feels like

I was watching the live stream on the website which was delayed by 5 minutes. So when 49th over started i almost got it something gonna go wrong because in reality match was finished at that time and if India had won, I'd have heard crackers going off. But it was complete silence outside.

Stupid people really should have shouted and abused over that great fight by our bowlers after pak's first powerplay. Idiots. It was clearly pak's win when we finished at 245. But still our bowlers created typical India-Pakistan match pressure. #Respect
It was Lala's day. Played responsible innings instead of his typical high hitting and wicket losing at crucial time.

I dont follow ? Why should Ashwin play if he is being out-bowled by an all rounder ?


EDIT: WOW. Just noticed. Ashwin has no 4 wicket hauls in ODIs. Jadeja has four of them including a fifer

It is very simple, Ashwin is our specialist bowler while Jadeja is not. As a skipper, its worth to invest the trust on Ashwin & question him if he doesnt go well rather than gambling with Jadeja & letting him go. That's it, I really don't care what statsguru in cricinfo says.
