I was thinking of the Ireland vs Netherlands match in 2014 T20 World Cup. Netherlands had to chase 190 in 14 or something, and they did that. I was hoping Afghanistan would pull this off... Alas!

End of hopes I guess. All they knew was it was either within 37.1 or nothing. Farooqi came in at 37.2 when Mujeeb got out.

So maybe he didn't think rushing was worth it anymore.

For all my criticism of how they’re over-reliant on their openers, Shahidi has stepped up well in the last two games. It was a spirited fight from the Afghani side, a shame they have to bow out.

This Sri Lankan bowling attack is really not it too even if this was a batting surface, they need their first team bowlers back ASAP.

If this is the case, it is really stupid on behalf of the organizers and match officials to not to do so at the very onset. In such scenarios,the could have at least let the 12th man run out with the message.

It’s not the job of the umpires to work out various NRR permutations of one team and inform them of it. Afghanistan should be blaming their data analyst for this one. They could have just checked Cricbuzz to find out too.
