Asia Cup 2023

Should be finished in time for tonight's T20s

Of all Asian players to have scored 1000+ ODI runs against SENA countries away from home, Babar Azam is the only to average more than 50.

Interesting. Now when I just tweak in to click just for the matches at opposition's home, its Virat who comes up as the lone Asian batsman with an average in excess of 50 while Babar averages 47.

Could be the case where they played the opposition at a neutral venue that fell in the SENA countries.

All said and done, I personally like Virat's batting over Babar due to the latter's capability to shift gears at will. If Babar can be more consistent with that adaptability, he is certainly the one to be the best batsman in all aspects.

That would exclude ICC events' matches in SENA against SENA. For example Babar's World Cup hundred vs NZ in England would be excluded.
It makes sense to include that.

I think taking out the 'SENA teams in SENA' makes more sense. If it's conditions that is the relevant aspect, then just matches in SENA countries. In which case it's Kohli and Misbah supremacy.

Another factor is the English conditions is not nearly as relevant as it is in test cricket.

I think it's relevant that Kohli's ICC events performance in SENA, against SENA countries, brings his average down by 6.
New Zealand and South Africa are still going to be more comfortable in England than Pakistan or India or Bangladesh, or even the Windies.

I don't really think so, particularly as England has had pretty flat pitches since 2015.

I do think SENA is as lazy a grouping of countries, as saying subcontinent conditions. It's not like England go to Australia and do well :lol In test cricket, at least, West Indian conditions can be closer to England purely because they use the same ball so you see more swing and seam.

It's ok @CerealKiller. Sometimes being a Pakistan fan feels like an endless quest of convincing people how good Babar really is.
He's really a victim of circumstance so that there are plenty of caveats that can be put forward to undermine the numbers. Whether it's fair on him or not. Having a big World Cup, that's also contributing to a good run for Pakistan, might change that.

Asian Champions turning the tables. Seems like the Snake lords are favouring Sssri Lanka again.

If BD continue this way, pretty sure they aren't going to make it out of Round 1. If that happens, expect Litton to lead them in November.
