Ponting Dominates and looking dangerous

Ricky Ponting has looked very dangerous in this period of 5 overs. Gutteridge just hanging in there with ponting as he smashes bowlers all around the park. it's been a tough ask for the aussies to come out of what couldve been the start of a collapse. But theyve managed to pull themselves out of it nicely. Ponting showing the youngster how its done with countless boundaries. Gutteridge just pushing singles at the moment but hopefully we shall see some dominace from him soon

Partnership broken

the vital 3rd wicket partnership has finally been broken when ponting was dismissed for 43 after a great delivery from the bowler. The 3rd wicket stand lasted for 17 overs and the pair put on 81. The new man in was Hussey with a very comfortable looking Gutteridge who has been crunching the runs in the last couple of overs.

Both batsmen are looking good especially hussey early on in his innings. Gutteridge closing in on maiden half century and looks to get it quickly.

Half Century up for Gutteridge

We have seen today what will the next generation for australian cricket. Brendan Gutteridge the debutant has brought up his half century coming in under such pressure. It was brought up with a crakcing boundary and was brought up in just 59 balls. Partnership has crept up to 30 and looks quite solid with consistent singles and continuous rotation of the strike. it's really frustrating the bowlers. Both chipping in with boundaries and Gutteridge crunching a massive six off one of the spinners. the crowd really went wild could be the first of many to come in this innings or the match.

The makings of a star

Australia banner flying high

Gutteridge has really shown dominace over the bowlers as his score continues to rise towards the illustrious hundred. At the other end Hussey is chipping in with runs to keep the scoreboard ticking. Gutteridge has been playing some extraordinary shots. Just to name a few the massive 6 over mid wicket and some Glorious fours through cover and point. He is currently on 77 and its been a great knock so far we can only hope he can make his century.

the 28th over was a good one for Australia. 15runs came off it and 13 went to Hussey who is looming near to his half century.

The Century of Many

Brendan Gutteridge has just scored his first One Day Century. it is always a joyous moment in every man's career to score a hundred on debut. just look at the celebration. his helmets off punching the air and points bat toward dressing room hoping his captain saw it. not to take the glory away from him but Michael Hussey has just scroed his Half Centruy shortly after bringing it up in just 48 balls. this Partnership is proving devastating as both men continue on. Gutteridge Still crunchin boundaries as he belts a 6 over long off.

Hussey finding gaps everywhere
Hussey still dominating bowlers as the partnership is creeping up towards 150. But all good things come to an end and it was Hussey who had to go. there was hesitation from both batsmen and Hussey was the one left stranded. He made a well made 63. Michael Clarke was the next man in and Gutteridge wasn't wasting any time building a partnership as he continued to dominate the bowlers in every direction.

The 250 mark arised just before the 40th over.

The end of a superb Knock

Gutteridge showing just how well he can rip apart bowling attacks with teo more huge sixes. Clarke looking very solid down the other end. Gutteridge brings up his 150 which includes 13 fours and 4 sixes. Clarke responds with a 6 over cover. Partnership reaches 50 and Clarke gives his wicket away shortly after

Symonds the new man in. He's quite a dominant paleyr and if ND can get on top of him early in his innings he wont be able to score as efficiently. Symonds has already started dominate with his first 3 balls as 4, 6, 4 and Gutteridge Follows suit. His innings brought to end when caught out on 158. He receives standing ovation as he makes his way back to the pavilion. Hogg the new man takes a quick 2's to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Hogg is gone soon after the 45 over mark he made 7 lobbing one to midoff. Brett Lee is the new man in and waste no time in getting off strike. Symonds hitting out big and brings up his 50 in just 17 balls with a massive 6 before bing dissmissed on 58. mitchell Johnson the new man in has a 20 run partnership with Lee before Lee is runout on the last ball of the innings.

Tight start for Aussies as they take there turn to bowl. Ball not doing much as Lee and Tait try to find a way to get wickets. Tait Sloppy giving away too many sundries early on. Lee gets hit for a couple of boundaries before he strikes in the 11th over gettng the batsmen caught out for 5. Tait also strikes at the other end clean bwoling the batsmen. the new batsman on the attck against Tait. Mitchell Johnson into the attck and straight away hit for 4.
