Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to Auckland. We are just moments away from the beginning of this match between Australia and New Zealand in the One Day, 3rd match.
We can tell you now, that on this perfect day here in New Zealand, New Zealand has won the toss and have elected to bat first. It was a good decision, as i went onto the ground earlier, and saw that the cracks in this pitch, once the play has started, it will start to crack and open up towards the end of today's play. It will play a big part in this match towards the end, so the New Zealand bowlers, will be looking to try and hit those spots when it comes down to the crucial overs.

So Daniel Vettori won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia will bowl first. Now we don't have word yet off the New Zealand line-up so we are unable to give you their team. But let's have a look at this Australian line-up for today's One Dayer.
There are a few changes from the match that lost last week, with some very big inclusions. Here is the line up for today's match for Australia.

1). Shaun Marsh, 2) Simon Katich, 3) Ricky Ponting, 4) Michael Hussey, 5) Michael Clarke, 6) Andrew Symonds, 7) Brad Haddin, 8) Mitchell Johson, 9) Nathan Bracken, 10) Brett Lee, 11) Ben Hilfenhaus

The red colored names are the players that have come into this line-up this match. And have a look at those names for the Aussies. Andrew Symonds and Brett Lee. Wonderful to see both of them back for many different reasons. Lee with his injury has finally gotten himself back to peak fitness and has been playing well with his state club. Symonds, after being out of the side for quiet a while with his troubled personality, has been given another chance by the selectors and his Captain, to try and prove to himself, that he can behave on and off the cricket field. The rest of the side is the same, with the two openers being in splendid form.

We are now about ready to begin this match. The Australian's have come onto the field and listen to the boo's directly pointed at Andrew Symonds. The two New Zealand batsmen are quickly to follow the Aussies out onto the field and quickly, those boo's turned into bronk applause. Brendon McCullum will be looking for a better start here today, as he certanily hasn't made a impact in this series so far.
Everyone takes their position, and it just show's how much the Aussies have missed Brett Lee, as Ponting has given his speed bowler, the new ball to start off proceedings here today.

So we are set ladies and gentlemen. The 3rd One Day match between New Zealand and Australia is about to get under way. Who is going to win this match? Australia or New Zealand? (Please give your tips) (Reps rewarded for the winners)

I'm tipping Australia to win this one. Nice pre match preview and go Australia!

as i said earlier i fancy New Zealand but now with Lee and Symonds back in the team i am tempted to change but i will stick with my original prediction. NZ to win for me and McCullum is due an innings. Good start mate.

Thanks mate, always enjoy the positive feedback

They are some handy inclusions. I've bought them in to try and strength our tail end batting and bowling. Hopefully they can perform

Just noticed, I would of had Lee ahead of Bracken in the batting order but I don't think we will need to use that many batsmen ;)

Australia loosing the plot.. Early!

Just 15 overs into this match, and it is already looking like Australia are totally loosing the plot, very early in this contest. 15 overs gone, and New Zealand have made 120 runs on the board, but it has been the Australian bowling that has let them down during this session. Brett Lee has been given another chance by the Australian selectors, but with his display this afternoon has been very very poor on his behalf.

Some poor bowling from Lee has given the New Zealand batsmen nothing to play at, which is where all their scores are coming from. 3 times Lee has given away 5 wides to the New Zealand scoreboard, as i don't think that Brad Haddin is use to the speed and quickness on this pitch. Lee might of given this thought way too much, as he has tried to make a impact in this contest so far, but has given away way too many runs to his opposition. But is all hasn't been Lee's fault, as Brendon McCullum was in sensational form. Smashing balls out of the middle of the bat and taking many risks. Jesse Ryder as well brilliant for the first 15 overs. Using his form from the last 2 matches, Ryder is again, controlling this match with his bat, and performing to be a headache for the Aussie bowlers.

Ryder and McCullum prove a handful for the Aussies

McCullum-2.jpg

It was such a one sided affair that Brendon McCullum quickly more then anything made his half century. This has been McCullum's best start to this One Day series between these 2 sides, and maybe he is just starting to find his feet. It has been one hell of a dominant display from Brendon, who in this innings alone has scored the 50 runs from 31 balls. 4 boundaries and 5 huge sixes from McCullum has given the crowd something to cheer about, and now they have a wonderful lead in just the 15 overs to begin this match. Australia have used many bowlers, but have not been successful in taking a wicket.

McCullum makes a well deserved half century

50runs.jpg

So in the first 15 overs in this match, it is New Zealand who have the major upper hand here. McCullum and Ryder have dominated the first 15 overs, and now the Aussies are struggling to take a wicket, trying many bowlers throughout the first session. Brett Lee hasn't shown anything on his well deserved return, in fact, he has been less then ok. Has given away too many extra's and runs. 120 in the first 15 overs, is a very poor return from the Australian's.

It isn't looking good for the Australians. McCullum is on fire. If New Zealand can continue this rampage then 350+ is on the cards.

Love the presentation of the scorecard :)

I said McCullum was due a start and that is exactly what he has done. The Aussies need a wicket and badly! Great work mate :D

Great start by New Zealand.....With Ross Taylor in good form as well, i have a feeling 350 is on the cards, But i think the Aussies will restrict New Zealand to 280

Great presentation Roo..........i hope Australia pulls this one off

reps for you mate

Thanking all you guys a lot. And welcome to all the new comers as well :D good to get new supporters.

Unfortunately, i don't know when the next update will be, as i'm busy with work for the next couple of day's. But i will try and fit one in.

Quick wickets, and Australia is back in contest!!! :happy:happy:happy

4 overs ago, you could of easily have said, that New Zealand we're on track for a massive total here with the start that they had. A partnership of 100+ from McCullum and Jesse Ryder was brewing too much for the Australian bowlers. You could have said that a total of 300, maybe even 350+ could be on track for the Kiwi's with the rate that their going at at the moment. Brett Lee was loosing the plot in his comeback match, just trying to do too much with the ball, and giving away too many wides, no balls, and boundaries. It has been a long time since we saw Brett Lee being smashed over the park, and today, has been one of them days.

But how quickly things can change. I don't know wether it was the form of Australia and their professionalism, or it just was the slack from the New Zealand batsmen, but something went wrong (or right for the Australian's) and then something started to click. Everything went right for the Aussies.
Brendon McCullum has been known to get out with running between the wicket's, and sure enough, he had been out that way in the first 2 matches these two sides have played, and well... once again, it surely happened too. Brett Lee had done something right! :D A good quick run down the ground, stopped the ball in it's track while McCullum and Ryder ran for their second. A bullet like throw from Lee back to the fieldsmen at the stumps, where Bracken was standing. Bracken took the bails off, as McCullum was trailing behind about 10 feet away. Bang, McCullum out again by run out, and maybe something turning here for the Aussies? They have the best batsmen out!:upray

And it certainly was something turning for the Aussies. Mitchell Johnson was bought back into the attack by Ponting and Michael Clarke. He has shown against the best in Test cricket, but has slowed down a bit in the One Day matches. Not as damaging as he is in the Test arena, but a very handy player on the one day stage. He will prove in the next couple of overs that he is a important asset to the Australia One Day line-up.
With that, he took the next wicket for Australia just minutes later after taking the all important wicket of McCullum. But this, in it's own right is an important wicket, as Ryder has been in superb form in this series, and today played a good knock of 47, just shy of another half century. Johnson was the wicket taker, while Michael Hussey took the catch on the edge of the inner circle. 2 quick concecutive wickets for Australia is giving them the momentum, and bringing them back into this match.

ryderwicket-2.jpg

2 consecutive wickets for the Aussies and they are full of energy now. Their tail's are up and they are starting to get themselves back into the game now. After being smashed for the first 15 overs, Australia have taken 2 quick wickets of the important players to bring back the match to level pegin. But surely the danger hasn't passed for Australia, with now Ross Taylor, who made a century the last time they faced off, and now the hard hitting power machine, Peter Fulton at the crease. Australia need to buckle down, and start again.

fulton-2.jpg

We all know that the Aussie cricket team is a wonderful team. No matter what stage of the match, if they are down, or 400 runs in front, they never give up, and give it 100% all of the time. This is what they are doing. When things looked lost early in the piece, 2 very quick... well.. make that 3 now, 3 quick wickets, as Australia just took another wicket from the bowling off Mitch Johnson here. A beautiful ball saw Ross Taylor (The dangerman) try to launch one down the fence, but it was quickly snarred by Brett Lee on the rope. A beautiful catch, and what a celebration from Brett Lee and the Australian Cricket Team. Their crowd is going nuts, as they are full of endurance and confidence this side at the moment. 3 quick consecutive wickets of 3 of the New Zealand dangerous batsmen has put this match right back where it started from being even.

Well this is were we leave this update. Let's have a look at what has happened in just the 4 overs. New Zealand after 15 overs looked steadily in control. No wickets had been taken at this stage and the scoreboard was looking on target for 350. But some wonderful bowling from Mitchell Johnson, and some good work in the field by Brett Lee and Michael Hussey has seen the Australian's pick up 3 wickets from the New Zealand's 3 best batsmen. Peter Fulton is still at the crease, and with Scotty Styris joining him. But all the momentum is with the Australian's at this time that we now leave you. And until our next update, we bid you farewell.

Hooray Aussies are back but really need to take more wickets to restrict Kiwis and win the match
