England vs New Zealand Natwest Series , Game 2
Birmingham Pitch Report
Harsha Bhogle : Hello and welcome all our viewers around the world . Today we are here for the 2nd match of the Natwest Series between England and New Zealand . Well we saw a good game of cricket in last match between England and India and India won the match by 26 runs . To talk more about today's match we have David Llyod and Sunil Gavaskar in the studio . First to you David what will be the effect of two losses in a row on England ?
David Llyod :Paul Collingwood has to sit down and think about the strategies going into this match . They have to change some players and bring some good players back . I suggest get the young Luke Wright for Ravi Bopara and Ryan Sidebottom back for Mascarenhas . The 2 losses will have an effect but these England players are professionals and they should know how to tackle pressure .
Harsha Bhoge : Sunny , what do you think , New Zealand will go in this match with a lot of confidence after beating World Champions in Australia .
Sunil Gavaskar : Yeah I agree with out Harsha , New Zealand will be full of confidence after a great series win in Australia .
Harsha Bhogle : Ian Botham is ready with the pitch report so lets take you live down on the pitch with Ian Botham.
Pitch Report
Ian Botham: Thanks Harsha .Well the stadium pack today to watch two big sides . Well on the pitch report its wonderful for batting .The pitch is damp and wet ball will not bounce much . It will be a run scoring game . Bowlers will have to work hard to get wickets and some lose bowling will get some trashing for sure. Team winning the toss might decide to bat first but it really will not matter as batting 2nd time on this wicket will remain same. So it will be a run feast and all the best for both the teams . The outfield is slow and the ball may not the reach the boundary much . Spinners may get a lot of help from the pitch . Back to you Harsha .
Harsha Bhogle :Thanks Ian . We will take a short break here and when we come back we will take you live for the toss with the two captains and Nasser Hussain........Stay Tuned
