Nice win for NZ they really kept there composure, but England did fight back after being 4 wickets down after 11 overs, so they didn't do to bad in the end....nice update

Michael Artheton : Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the presentation ceremony . We saw a exciting match in which Kiwis beat the host by 4 runs only . First I would like to call the losing captain Paul Collingwood to have some words .
Paul the last over gamble just turned the match upside down . Was the gamble necessary ?
Paul Collingwood : KP had bowled 2 good overs before that which made be to give him the ball . Ryan was not fit enough to bowl and so he couldn't bowl . Sometimes gamble pays of and sometime it doesn't . Today it didn't . But we hope to come back very strongly in the Natwest Series .

Now the MOTM who was selected by commentary team and it goes to Kyle Mills for his brilliant figures of 4 for 12 .
Kyle superb bowling today four inside edge and four wickets ! Great way to mark your comeback in the team?
Kyle Mills : Yeah bit luck with the inside edges which all went to Brendon , he was brilliant behind the stumps . Yeah its always good to make a comeback by taking 4 wickets and most important winning a match . This will raise our confidence as we go in the Natwest Series .

Now winning captain Daniel Vettori. Daniel brilliant display by the team and especially Styris and Oram played superbly .
Daniel Vettori : Yeah , it was great team display by the boys . We played some outstanding cricket . Going 5 wickets down for 26 runs is always trouble but then Jacob and Scot played brilliantly stabilize the game and then Scot smashing Pietersen for 32 in an over was great . In bowling Kyle getting 4 wickets is superb for the team and as Kyle said we are really confident going into the series .

Harsha Bhogle : Hello and welcome to the 1st match of Natwest Series 2008 , between teams well balanced and strong teams who give their best when they come on to play the game . Both the team are the strongest contenders for winning the Natwest Series and are in some great from . England who are coming from a bad start to the new season with a defeat against Scotland in a small triangular series and then some win in Sri lanka and a defeat against New Zealand 2 days ago in the Twenty 20 . While India are having a good campaign after T20 world cup triumph . England would be raring to remove all their frustration of the defeat against New Zealand on India .
Nasser Hussain : The conditions are excellent for cricket no signs of rain and some good sunshine not too hot and not too cold and the players will be loving this. The pitch is covered with a layer of green grass and there will be swing for the bowlers in the whole match . Batsmen are really going to have lots of problems while facing the quick bowlers and it will be hard to bat first so the captain winning the toss will surely bowl first .
Ravi Shastri : England have won the toss and Paul Collingwood has decided to bowl first . Thats a good decision as the pitch is bowler friendly and with the likes of Anderson and Broad in the side the bowling will be dangerous and really it is a worrying factor for Indians to bat first . So lets get the match started and surely it will be a tough one for the batsmen . Lets see who win this one
India Innings
Having lost the toss India were asked to bat first and England didnt make the most out of it with some inaccurate display of swing bowling with no pace and control of line and length . India were bowled out for 284 in just 45 overs and really it was poor display of bowling by England but some great display of batting by Indians . It all started with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar going after the openening bowlers J.Anderson and S.Broad by some great shots through cover and pont region . Tendulkar was showing why he is the best batsman in the world , while on the other end Sehwag and Gambhir also got some valuable runs as they went after the bowlers . This all happened because of inexperience in the English bowling attack . India had got of to a great start with Sehwag and Tendulkar but finally the breakthrough came due to a mix up between the bastmen and Sehwag had to go for 21 .
Gautam Gambhir was the next man in and he looked confident and played some great shots in his innings of 50 . But Broad got the bettwer of him as he was caught at fine leg by Anderson and India were 167 for 2 . But today there was no stopping for Tendulkar he was proving to he most aggresive batsman as he was ready to go after each and every bowler that was brought into the attack . But soon Yuvraj became Broad's 2nd victim as he was bowled be and outswinger and Yuvraj didn't believe his eyes that the ball went on to hit the stumps. R.Sharma was the man in he chipped with some important 20 runs but he had to go back as he was caught by Bell at point and Bopara got his first wicket .Next man in was U19 India winning captain Virat Kohli made his debut and what an debut to make alongside player like Sachin Tendulkar . But the partnership lasted for just 2 balls as Tendulkar was well held by Bopara at covers and Mascarenhas had got him out on 81 . Captain Dhoni came in to bat . Virat Kohli looked very agrrseive as he took the charge against Monty Panesar amd Ravi Bopara . He played some delightful shots in his quick innings of 42 of just 24 balls before he edge on to Ambrose of Panesar . MS Dhoni and Pathan scored some quick runs including 2 huge sixes before they both fell to Panesar and Bopara with the score 14
each . Harbhajan went back the first ball has Shah made no mistake catching an easy one . Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth scored some invaluable 23 runs as India reached 284 in 45 overs .
England Innings
285 was never gonna be easy against Indian bowling lineup . England got upto a great start with some 100 runs without any wickets in 24 overs but the run rate was very slow as Ambrose and Cook were trouble by Ishant and Sreesanth at the start . But soon Harbhajan Singh got the breakthrough of Ambrose caught easily by Dhoni and he departed for 48 and England were 116 for 1 . Cook and Bell put some partnership on the board before Cook was caught behind again by Dhoni of Sehwag and he departed for 81 and England lost their second wicket on 151 . Bell went quickly in the next over . He was cleaned bowled by a slow one from Irfan Pathan and England were 151 fot 3 . Collingwood and Pietersen needed to rescue their team but that didn't happen as Sehwag striked again striked getting Collingwood lbw on 8 and England were 166 for 4 as Shah came in . Pietersen and Shah put on a valuable partnership of 53 runs in 49 balls . But then it was Pathan again who got the better of the English batsmen . First was Pietersen who was caught by Gambhir at long on and Kp departed fro 44 of 30 balls and 15 runs later Shah caught by Dhoni of Pathan as England were 236 for 5 . Bopara and Mascarenhas got some runs for England but they were not enough as they lost by 26 runs in the first ODI . Bopara remained not out on 21 and Mascarenhas was not out on 10 . SreeSanth bowled brilliantly by just giving 26 runs in 10 overs but Pathan was the pick of the bowlers by taking 3 wickets .
Man Of The Match
Sachin Tendulkar was given the man of the match for he wonderful display with the bat by scoring 81 runs in 92 balls and his innings guided India to take an advantage over England .
