Story Australia tours New Zealand 08/09 (Abandoned) NEW: Australia's Long Ashes Tour coming soon!

another great update mate. Great scorecard and gfx throughout and nice summaries reporting of what is going on! Aussies are back in it although Styris certainly can bat. Great update looking forward to the next one already. :D

Three wickets in four overs has turned this match. A few more wickets and Australia on top, though New Zealand do have a long batting line-up in which there bowlers can bit a fair bit.

Hooray Aussies are back but really need to take more wickets to restrict Kiwis and win the match
We now have the momentum, hopefully we can take that momentum into creating more wickets :D

I tried hard on that scoreboard, nearly took me 2 hours to make. It's different from what i usually use, so i like it. Styris is going to be a handful and so will Fulton, so we'll try and get those 2 wickets as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the comments mate, hopefully we can restrict them.

Thanks for the comment's guys. Keep them coming too. Updates coming soon :banana2:banana2

One good partnership is what Kiwis need. Lets see.. And also can you correct using player editor that Ryder is a left handed batsman. ;) Great stuff :hpraise

Momentum swinging Australia's way :happy:happy:happy

After taking some quick wicket's, the thing the Australian's certainly didn't need was for the New Zealanders to get some runs back on the scoreboard. They needed to keep the pressure on the batsmen, and not allow them to score as many runs as they can, and try and pick out another couple of wicket's. But to the Kiwi's credit, their batsmen, Fulton and Styris started to pick out some runs and started to get a little partnership going (Just like Suren said :p), and well when that happens, when a team starts to build a partnership, and starts to kick out of gear and put on some solid runs, it's very hard to stop them, not even the strength of the Australian team.

Although, to the Australian team's credit, they stuck to their guns, and played some good cricket in the field. They persisted with their bowlers, and it payed off. Mitch Johnson was again in the thick of things. Bowling some good line and length throughout his spell, and it payed off with another crucial wicket. Scott Styris was the man that walked back to the pavillion. Nathan Bracken was underneath a rain maker from Styris who tried his hardest to get the runs scoring for the Kiwi's, but with that type of shot, of course the runs weren't going to flow. And with that, Australia had now taken their 4th wicket and we're looking the goods at the moment.

Note: Australia did take another wicket of Peter Fulton is this passage, but due to game difficulties, there is no screen shot for his departure.

So Grant Elliot and James Franklin are the next two batsmen to the crease due to the wickets falling of Fulton and Styris. Australia have hit the tail end now with Franklin coming to the crease, but they will find it tough, as the New Zealand tail end is a good batting line-up. Vettori can certainly bat, so they'll be concerntrating on getting him out as quickly as possible when he enters the crease.

So with those 2 wickets that Australia picked up, let's see what the situation is now. After 30 overs, New Zealand are 220/5. It's a good looking score card at the moment, and with 20 overs to come, they'll be looking for another 100 runs at the least. If they can keep their batsmen at the crease then they'll be looking for that 300. The minimum i'd expect is 270 from New Zealand on this pitch, but getting into the tail end now and with 5 wickets remaining, anything can happen.

Good bowling from Johnson.
If these two can bat sensibly...im sure they can get to 300

cant't wait for the next update:D

nice update and i still think New Zealand are going extremely well! Aussies need to clean up tail for about 50 runs to make life easier for themselves. Great work as always mate. Keep it up :)

New Zealand will be dissapointed with anything under 320 I feel. If Australia can get into the tail quickly they might be able to peg the Kiwis back.

Elliot has lot of works to do now.. I am expecting some fireworks now. :D

Thanks to all who have commented. Just a little announcement. This thread has reached 200 posts :happy:happy

Updates to come soon :happy:happy

35 overs gone, Australia looking to restrict to 260

After 35 overs in this match, Australia after off to a slow start, are looking to put the Kiwi's away for a par total of 260-280 on this pitch. After the New Zealand opening batsmen, McCullum and Ryder came out firing, it was looking a dismall day for the Aussies, as the partners were on target to reach 320-350. But now with some good bowling from the Australian bowlers, they have pegged this total way back, and is now into the tail end of the batsmen. Australia will not want to give away too many runs in these last 15 overs, but New Zealand need to know that they have 15 overs left to bat, so they won't be taking any risks.

Australia in the last 5 overs picked up another wicket, that wicket being off Franklin who didn't at all trouble the scorers or the result on this match. Franklin was dismissed for just 2 runs, when Michael Clarke got the better off the batsmen, when he smashed a ball straight into the chest of Nathan Bracken, who rightfully took his second catch of this match, and Bracks was in the event that run out McCullum at the beginning of the match as well, it seems like the ball is following Bracken around this afternoon.

N. Bracken has the ball on a string this afternoon

And now with that Wicket of Franklin, Australia will be taking a relieving breath, as they have now have broken into the New Zealand tail enders, which they will be looking to break down on, as quick as possible, so the Aussies can come out and defend on this total.
Daniel Flynn is the next batsmen to the crease, and with Grant Elliot playing some good cricket, as he has reached 45, maybe the Aussies still have a lot of cricket to come, with 15 overs still remaining in this match.

New Zealand could be all bowled out for a score they wouldn't of expected if they don't be careful.
