The Preview

This story will contain of many many good things. Shane Warne has spent time over in England helping their side to a good 2 years, but now has come back to Australia, and see if he can lead the Aussies to dominance.
I will be using ICC 2006 for the matches. But i will be adding on real life events, and pictures like my other story, but also using screens for the Statistics. Shane Warne says that he is delighted coming back home after spending 2 years in England, and is really looking forward to seeing his good mates again, but also coaching them. "The best thing is i get to come and coach players like White, Johnson and Bracken, the younger bregade of the club" Warne said.

Telecasting Right;
Sky Sports have been provided to cast the Cricket for the next 4 years. Sky Sports have bought a deal with Foxtel which brings you live coverage of every Cricket match for the next 4 years. Sky Sports hasnt produced the Cricket before, and will have Richie Beanu, Mark Taylor, Michael Slater, Tony Greig, Mark Nicholas and Ian Chappel in the commentary team.
Alot of good things are going to come from Sky Sports, and they are looking forward to brining you the best coverage of Cricket to date.

Presentation:

Hopefully the presentation for this next couple of years will be oustanding. All new layouts with screens from ICC 2006 for scoreboard, bowling cards, player and career stats, bowlers pitchmaps, partnership graphs and many many more.
I might introduce things like, Sniko Metre, Hot spot, Hakeye and many many more things.

Just some entertainment for the Fans:

Alot of ways to earn Reputation points and become really active in this story. We will have a Johnnie Walker Trivia in every match. A tivia will be asked during a match, whenever that may be, and the first 3 correct answer willl earn themselves some Rep point.

Fan Talk:

If anyone has any questions about the match, and would like to know about Stats or anything, then the Users can ask me through PM, and will keep your question and save it until the end of the match, for our Fan talk. I will be asking people questions regarding on what they thought on the match, and then i will but together and post during the end of the day in a single psost and experts will have a talk on that.

Guess the Player"

And good old guess the player. Just the easiest way in getting Rep points. A player will be chossen at random, and half their face will be blurred. 1st top answer will earn himself Rep Points. Just an easy way in getting some Rep Points.

Play of the Day: Play of the day has been used on Channel 10's late night sports programme for many years now, and Sky Sports have taken interested in making their own at the end of many many matches a day. The best play, means shot, catch, bowl, run out, boundary or whatever it may be, and show it at the end of the day.

And here is some other little things that you can expect from my story...

- After match suggestions from crowd memebers, on how there team performed.
- Planetcricket Match guess- Users from PC guess on who is going to win the match - Rep Points up for grabs
- Game Preview - Before the match preview
- Team lists - changes
- Coin Toss - Pitch reports, weather report, crowd report- and many many more
- Using ICC 2006 for stat boards
- Will be using both Real life pics, and screens from ICC 2006 to show the stats

So sit back and enjoy, and hopefully this story can become very succesful and more importantly, Entertaining.

Looks quite interesting, but why Sky Sports? What is wrong with Australian stations Nine and Fox?

Otherwise this looks like a great story, good luck with it!

Tim Nielsen story would have been better

Do Australia need a new beginning? :)
Anyway good luck mate.
Well no they dont, but it is a new beginning really, with Warne as their coach and the younger players coming into the side like Bracken, White and Johnson. Its different from seeing McGrath, Warne and Langer out there

Well the only reason why i chose Sky Sports is because thats the only Overlay i could find for ICC 2006. If i could find a channel 9 or Fox overlay then i would use them :p

McGrath Retires

Glenn McGrath, the great Australian bowler, has announced that he will retire in a few days time. McGrath told the world before the World Cup in 08 that he would be retiering afterwards. McGrath came out this morning and told the media that he will be retiering in a few days. I havent told the fella's yet, but as i have told the Media first, they are most certainly going to know soon.
McGrath, the stellar career coming to an end. In Tests series or One-Day matches, McGrath would have done it all.

Full name Glenn Donald McGrath
Born February 9, 1970, Dubbo, New South Wales
Current age 37 years 47 days
Major teams Australia, ICC World XI, Middlesex, New South Wales, Worcestershire
Nickname Pigeon, Millard
Playing role Bowler
Batting style Right-hand bat
Bowling style Right-arm fast-medium
Height 1.95 m
Education Narromine Primary; Narromine High School

The young Glenn McGrath was described by Mike Whitney as "thin - but Ambrose-thin, not Bruce Reid-thin". Much later, Mike Atherton compared McGrath to Ambrose on a vaster scale. Catapulted from the outback of New South Wales into Test cricket to replace Merv Hughes in 1993, McGrath became, after a faltering start, the great Australian paceman of his time. And after passing Courtney Walsh's 519 wickets in the 2005 Super Test only Dennis Lillee threatens his title as the greatest Australian fast man of all time. His obituary has been prepared a few times - he was doubted after coming back in 2004 from ankle surgery and there were similar fears following a long lay-off to care for his wife two years later - but he wrote his own farewell by retiring from Tests on his home ground. Apart from bowing out with a 5-0 Ashes win, he walked of the SCG with a wicket from his final ball to capture his 563th victim. The World Cup will be his last tour as an international before he becomes a full-time Dad.
McGrath bowled an unremitting off-stump line and an immaculate length, gained off-cut and bounce, specialised in the opposition's biggest wickets - especially Atherton's and Brian Lara's - was unafraid to back himself publicly in these key duels, and showed himself to be unusually durable. He was a batting rabbit who applied himself so intently that while playing for Worcestershire he won a bet with an Australian team-mate by posting a fifty. The work eventually paid off in Tests when he made 61, the third-highest score by a No. 11, against New Zealand in 2004-05. Only in his occasional fits of ill-temper did he fail himself.
He rewrote the World Cup record-books in 2003 with 7 for 15 against the outclassed Namibians, on his way to adding another winner's medal to a bulging collection. An ankle injury threatened to derail his quest for 500 Test wickets, but after briefly contemplating retirement he bounced back with yet another five-wicket haul against Sri Lanka at Darwin in July 2004. Three months later, at Nagpur, he became the first fast bowler to play 100 matches in the baggy green, and his greatness was further confirmed when knocking down the brittle Pakistanis at Perth with 8 for 24, the second-best figures by an Australian.
Adept at picking his moments, he chose the first day at Lord's to reach 500 and his subsequent ankle and arm injuries were crucial to Australia losing the series. The following summer was also painfully disrupted with the reoccurrence of his wife Jane's cancer, which called for immediate treatment and McGrath's full attention. He pulled out of the VB Series finals as well as tours to South Africa and Bangladesh, but he returned to help Australia reclaim the urn.
