Australia in India

I think we have a right to bully countries considering I've seen t-shirts will the slogan, "I support my country & whoevers playing Australia".

You haven't seen us abuse the likes of Nel for being idiots?

You need to get over the T20 win! That's hit and giggle cricket!!!

Sreesanth is crappy! He took wickets from lazy shots and went at over 7 an over!

Let's get serious, Says Gilly

Lets see how long you guys keep saying this 'hit and giggle' stuff. Twenty20 is tomorrow's future. People have got the taste for it and have loved it. It will easily beat the ODI's in terms of money and popularity. Just because one team stumbled badly in a Twenty20 tournament, it becomes hit and giggle??

Anyways, why go there? Back to the match which is to start in about 30 mins. Should be a fun game. Got to win this one to not let the opposition run away with a bigger lead. Waiting to see the Indian lineup for the match.

It is hit and giggle?

Why do you think India won the Twenty20 by a sniff but have struggled immensely in the 2 ODI's?

Just imigane if it were a Test Match

Aussies batting.

Big day for Gilly.

Gilly gonna smash that sreesanth back to his home

Hayden would be ranked number #1 ODI batsman in the world by now, shouldn't he? They haven't updated the rankings as of late.

I will shut my mouth. In the end, it comes down to what happens on the field. No point bagging us if we're kicking your ass.
On the contrary, I believe you will claim that it's just one game and that you are three-times world champions. :)

Well that's a silly justification and I'm sure the Australian cricket team would not endorse your views.

He should be. Shows what a bag of crap the ICC rankings are. :p

From a more mature point of view, we are also getting a look at the new ICC rulings--especially the new ball at the 35th over. It seems this pretty much makes spinners negligible because they have to get their overs in between overs 20 and 35 because otherwise the new ball really just comes onto the bat.

It's called being sarcastic.

On the other hand, our selectors have proven once again why don't have a clue about cricket.

Who drops a guy who won man of the match in the last match for a guy who maintains his position after scores of 0 & 3.

It's a clean 35 over ball, not to be confused with a new ball. Most of the effect is that it would be a lot easier to see with all the grass removed. I've heard some suggestion that it negates the potential for old-ball reverse swing by some margin, but time will tell. Hopefully the amended PowerPlay rules improve the use of spin in other areas.

So what? We have played just two games yet. We have played well against Australia before in the ODI's too. Just their struggle here doesnt make the Twenty20 win a fluke or 'easy meat'. You guys were expected to win that one too and no one expected us to win even though they knew everything about the format.

Back on the game, Rohit Sharma comes in and thats a good move. Sounds very wierd to see Brad Haddin dropped for Ricky Ponting. Hope it helps us.

I don't think it will really matters if Hayden keeps hitting the ball this well though.

Should take some pressure off of Gilchrist.

Ominous signs, this is exactly how he started when he made his fastest World Cup century against South Africa.

I know it's a clean 35 over ball but it is also not going to be damp--which will be the case with the ball that has been hit around especially in a day-nighter. The dampness helps the spinners a great deal because the ball is difficult to time. A harder 35-over ball negates the spinners quite a bit, I feel.

Two good shots from Hayden off Sreesanth. That's a youtube moment!

Take that India!

Best ODI batter in the world at the moment...

Sreesanth's not bowled badly, in my opinion. A couple of good-looking shots but he's got quite a few in the right areas.

That's because only Gilly is batting at the moment. :p
