Australia in India

Interesting article about sreesanth:http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/im-just-having-a-go-says-sreesanth/2007/10/04/1191091276980.html

I mean, I personally dont like him at all because of what he does, but for some reason, he seems like hes stupid more than anything. Could he be a good person at heart?

He's a very nice guy. I've met him on various occasions. Never says no to an autograph or quick pic, and is always up for a chat about Cricket.
What I find it hard to believe Is that other bowlers from around the world are allowed to do whatever they want. I mean, sledge. Now, we have one gutsy Indian that does it and everyone makes a big deal over it.
GET OVER IT.
Oh, and by the way, If you guys think Sreesanth is crap-He's taken 6 wickets in 2 ODI's against you guys. What does that say about your batting? Crappier?
I'm sure we all remember the Hayden's stumps taking a nice stroll in the T20 semi's eh? Ooh, and don't forget Gilchrist's either. Middle stump..whoo!
Yes, Sreesanth is really crappy
Lets see if the Aussies can take the heat in Hydrabad- not the temperature but our pace bowlers.
I predict a Sreesanth mauling here.

Lol, thats the funniest thing I have heard in a while.

Don't just say "nope"! Reply with your reason why you want to say "nope"

You haven't seen us abuse the likes of Nel for being idiots?

You need to get over the T20 win! That's hit and giggle cricket!!!

Sreesanth is crappy! He took wickets from lazy shots and went at over 7 an over!

Let's get serious, Says Gilly

ENOUGH already! Adam Gilchrist has pleaded with India to shelve an annoying obsession with their Twenty20 championship win, saying life is a lottery in the hit-and-giggle format.

Going to be a very big summer ahead. So I'm gonna go to the Boxing day test with my mates. :)

I'll do some sledging of my own.

"This guy swings like a rusty gate"
"This guys got more blocks than legoland"
"This guys got more leaves than a tree"
"I've seen better hookers on StKilda street" (Melbournians will understand this one"

;)
Yeah the St. Kilda one is old as, but still gold :D But Acland or Fitzroy Street would be the ones I would put in it, St. Kilda is just that kind of an area.

As far as sledging goes it's just a part of cricket and is often blown out of proportion. As Ponting said, Harbhajan is happy to talk the talk but when it gets thrown back at him suddenly the Aussies are terrible villains who have dirty mouths.

Look at our scores mate, crappy wouldn't sum it up. As for the Twenty20 WC, seriously, as Gilly said, get over it. You guys beat us once in a form of the game that is as unpredictable as anything. Anyone can win, even Bangladesh.

We're not making a big deal out of Sreesanth, I'm just saying that look at what smart-arses have done against Australia. Graeme Smith? Kevin Pietersen?

Chloe Saltau wrote an interesting article in the Age today: Time to tone down cricket idiots

Chloe Saltau said:
Until recently, it has not been the Indian way. Sachin Tendulkar always has been serene in the face of Australians' barbs, so they gave up sledging and gave him the silent treatment instead.

While some might be intrigued to see how Australia's cricketers react to an opponent prepared to antagonise ? although as combative South African captain Graeme Smith found, they usually just play better ? it is hard to avoid the conclusion that Sreesanth, whose teammates seem unable to control him, made a goose of himself. I know of one Indian who felt embarrassed by his behaviour....

After a ridiculous, gyrating celebration in South Africa last year, a senior Indian player took Sreesanth aside and said something similar. Did he want to be remembered as a great bowler, or as an idiot?

Interesting stuff, read the full article.

Yeah and them 6 wickets havn't really made a difference have they? We have still posted 300 runs+ both innings.

Harbhajan Does not act like some others on the field he is the same person
outside the field or inside he gives it all and i think personal abuses
should not be part of cricket

Sreesanth is not as bad as nel,I think if australians did not notice he should not
have done it ,i think look at dravid, tendulkar, gilchrist i never seen them respond
with their mouth but bat ,i think like harbhajan responded some aussie batsman also responded so it continued

Its just been a week there is no need of anybody to tell what we need to do
What ever cricket it is it was a world championship so atleast we were better than you on the day:D,

I Think Its none of gilchrist business he is here to play cricket If he his been asked the question 50 times i have a idea for him-"No Comment" and he should concentrate on his batting he has been struggling for some time now

His 3rd last inning was 149 in a World Cup final wasn't it?

AS I Said he has been struggling in odis even in the world cup till at the final where he played a gem of a knock.also you are as good as your last innings isn't mate

300 is a good score now adays in india every match you bat first you are expected to score above it,there is nothing great about it specially with the new rules, also sreesanth did make a diffenrence if he had not got early wickets they would have got 350

Mate, you might want to start winning before bagging us.Once you start winning, you may do so. Butfor now, just shut your mouth.

You shut your mouth ,winning or losing is part of the game Its not that
if australia lose you shut up.:p
I will shut my mouth. In the end, it comes down to what happens on the field. No point bagging us if we're kicking your ass.
