No Swing? Have you ever watched Bracken play? Most of the wickets he picks up are resulted from swing causing the batsmen to edge or play a bad shot.

thats not what i meant...i meant if conditons arent conducive to swing then Bracken is largely useless.

Oh sorry, my mistake. You are right, The conditions do have to be quite good for him to do well. I would still rather see Bracken in the squad then Johnson though.

Bracken deserves the spot way more than Johnson. Johnson had one good final game this whole year. May as well take Bollinger if you are taking him!

Brillant batting by Mr Cricket and Martyn. As long as we don't choke we should be home and hosed. Hopefully these two finish it off today. Martyn has sealed his place to the Ashes now I would think.

Hussey out for 89 deserved a century good patient batting.
Havent seen a hawkeye replay yet but looked to me like it was going down legside.

Symonds has come out and playing the way he should, confident and if the balls there hes smashing it.
Already smashed a 6 over cover from boje.

edit

Aussie1st thx for mentioning choking its happening now.
Symonds out trying to block, for a quick 29runs of 26balls.
Gilly out for a duck.
60runs required to get,Langer is at the ground and wearing whites unsure if they would bother risking him though.

edit again wake up aussies.

Now Warne is out 55 runs still required they just showed the aussie rooms again and Langer is out of his whites.
Marto still looking good, looks like its up to binger once again.

The Proteas have a very good chance of wrapping it up tomorrow. If Symonds had played more responsibly, it would have been an easy target to reach. It is still not a huge task if Lee stays in.

Someone need to take Symonds aside and have a long chat..Sure he is a great talent but if he is serious about being in the test team he can't play with this attitude. I don't think he plays like this even in ODI's.. The couple of games in VB series were great examples of how he played himself in when Australia were in trouble and then took off.

The game's not lost though, I really hope Martyn gets us home. He's played as well as he's done since comming back. Something tells that Langer might still have a say in his 100th test..the guy deserves it.

Wow fantastic Martyn. Hussey also, hes soo consistant. He reminds me of Hayden a lot.

This is going to be pretty close, its in Martyns hands now.

I would select Dizzy and Bracken for Bangladesh. They have tried enough new bowlers this season, its time to re-tryout known performers as build up to the ashes.

Destiny has come, once again Martyn is in a situation where we don't have much left to chase but not many wickets in tack. If he gets out we might well lose just like in 1993 against the same opposition. Lets see how Martyn handles it 10+ years on.

It could also be the fitting way for Langer to celebrate his 100th test, coming out when he has been out most of the game to win it.

As for Symonds thats how hes got to play, if he played defensely he would have got out for a duck. Some days it will come off others days it won't.

The match is well poised, but if Austria are calm in their approach, it should be a simple task, but it obviously doesn't always work like that. The Africans need an inspired bowling performance to set them alight and some purpose in the field to maintain the pressure, they'd already be motivated, but for the wrong reasons really..
It'll be very difficult for Gilchrist to pull himself out of this, nations will be watching and learning to execute these successful tactics, and it's just one step further into working him out completely..

SA have to get an early wicket tomorrow - if Martyn and Lee can add even 15-20 runs together, the match would be over.

Yep, definitely, hence something to spark more belief in the field and an inspired bowling performance, vitally consisting of wickets or a spell that allowed the supporting bowler to breakthrough several times and take advantage of Australia's borderline position.
(Replying to alfa beta, forgot how to add a quote when editing it)

Lee has to be more selsctive of strokes, he played and missed a wide one at the end of the day.
If langer is fit to play tommorrrow then Aus should cruise hom.

poor old lee has to do everything these days...at least marto has stuck around 4 once.
gilly is becoming a serious concern...more low scores and he'll be a liability. hopefully he can get his act together in bangla and then have a good rest with the family over winter.

symonds...altho he got out im still pleased that he played his way...because if he hadve been defensive from word 'go' he would not have made 29 and we'd be in deeper trouble.
