He took a while to get going today, but is starting to kick on. Sometimes the bowlers don't get enough "credit" for it, though. He can lure bowlers into negative tactics like bowling at leg stump.

It must be said, this doesn't appear to be a down-the-ground sort of pitch; the bounce is a bit tennis ball-like and it seems tough to drive on the up. The only balls to go have been way full.

Katich might have made 50 but hes certainly showing his Shield form with some of his misjudgments. Just given 2 lives in 5 minutes.

New Zealand's chance to get anything out of this match may have already passed with those two drop catches in the last two overs before tea. Not the easiest catches to take but at this level they should of been taken.
