Australia tour of New Zealand 2010

So if he's coming in as cover for Franklin what happens if Ross Taylor is still out? Don't tell me we are going to play a middle order of Broom, Hopkins and Stewart. That could go very wrong.

Get this. Broom has been out for a duck 6 times in 21 innings. 5 TIMES TO LBW the other being run-out. 4 of them after facing 1 ball (includes the run-out), 1 after facing 2

Can this issue not be easily remedied? Maybe he needs better preparation before going out to bat or maybe he needs to play with a straighter bat? Very poor.

Any other changes or just Stewart in Franklin out? or is Franklin still there but Stewart is in just as cover?

Dunno why you're asking me. I have no idea hahahaha. If it were up to me he woulda been gone long ago. He;s still very young, he just needs some time out of the side to develop his game in nz domestic and told to work on some things.

Probably won't be. I think we only know about Stewart because the rumor got passed around (They might have said the Canterbury Coach told them). There's been no official announcement yet so there's a chance. I'm guessing Hopkins will stay in covering Taylor and we'll be stuck with Broom still :/

irottev added 2 Minutes and 49 Seconds later...

lol Guptill and McCullum's record from the Bangladesh series for the 6th wicket has already been broken by Van Wyk and Stewart. Gutted.

McCullum
Ingram
Guptill
Taylor
Styris
Stewart
McCullum
Vettori
Tuffey
Bond
Southee

You reckon? Or will Broom play instead of McCullum? The problem with that being that there are only 5 bowling options and Styris would have to bowl ten. This is where we miss the part time bowling of Ryder and Elliott... Or Hopkins again instead of Stewart?

OMG, if Broom bloody plays!!!
He's one of the crappiest international pure batsmen in the game, along with Ashraful!!!

Vettori should move up to six, Styris up to five, play Hopkins at seven, and Nathan McCullum at eight.

So:

McCullum
Ingram
Guptill
Taylor
Styris
Vettori
Hopkins (Would prefer Williamson, but Hopkins any day over budget Broom)
McCullum
Tuffey
Bond
Southee

Yes I am a Broom hater!!!

N McCullum has got to play IMO. As Chewie said, otherwise Styris has to bowl 10. The only other back up is Guptill really. If any bowler has an off day then they're screwed.

Apparently Ross Taylor and James Franklin are next to no chance of being fit for the 3rd ODI on Tuesday. So that would mean Stewart will make his debut and most likely slot in a number six

1.McCullum
2.Ingram
3.Guptill
4.Styris
5.Broom
6.Stewart
7.Hopkins

Backing Styris to bowl 10 overs because with this current line-up we need all the batting we can get. Both Guptill and Broom can bowl if needed to.

Ingram and Hopkins haven't been playing that badly recently... And Broom will come in 4/5 so hopefully he can play better. The selectors probably wouldn't want to bring two new players in at the same time against Australia.

Whats with this Hopkins hate, he's done more than both Broom and Franklin.
If Taylor and Ryder both don't play, we are stuffed anyway...
Broom should just go crawl into a hole, ATM why would he even want to play himself, he knows he's going to fail.
The whole of our batting normally revolves around Taylor, but when you put two fails in Franklin and Broom into 4 and 5, the order is double fail, like the 2nd ODI.
Vettori should be up at five/six, now we know he's better than everyone who's fit bar McCullum, Guptill and Styris.
