Can't disagree with this.Tbh this Test should have been declared in SA's favor already. This is a disgrace to Cricket and just stepping down from captaincy isn't and shouldn't be enough!

Either way it's nice to see Australians not talking to the batsmen for a change. I can get used to this kind of cricket. All that, 'sledging is part and parcel of the game' is utter nonsense to me. Tony Greig said it best. "If you allow players to talk out there in the middle, it's only a matter of time before something personal (over the line) is said". Hopefully this will start to change Aussie cricketing culture, though I remain doubtful of that. All this must have had a telling effect on the Australian players. Surely they wouldn't in the right frame of mind on the field with their minds being preoccupied with what's happening off the field. SA can very well take advantage of this and hammer 75-100 runs quickly, put them in the driver's seat (they are already there though) and finish the match.
The Australians are demoralized and I can't see them fighting back in this match.
The only thing I can't understand is how in the world, with the gazillion cameras all around the ground, did Bancroft think he woundn't get noticed while putting something down his pants - right in the middle of the ground. Even more surprising was the attempt at explaining to the umpires that it was nothing but some cloth; I mean surely if the umpires are asking about it, it must mean they have sensed something happening on the field.

If they step down for just this test it would be such a hollow gesture. The match is all but lost at this point. Smith staying on as captain will not make much of a difference.
I don't want them to step down in any case. I want them to be banned for a couple of games at least, the next test series if possible. Sitting out in a couple of meaningless odis or t20s won't make a difference either. ICC needs to make an example of them here. It's a good opportunity.
although I am probably hoping for too much here I hope it will be a defining moment fir everyone to realise that the game has steadily been poisened by this so called “getting in to the minds of the opposition”. It is like a freakin boxing match conference sometimes. Act like thugs and hooligans and you will attract thugs and hooligans. This any thing goes attitude is so damaging; its an utter utter disgrace that Smith is even on the field.....although there is the cold comfort that he wont be enjoying it. I think it's good that he told the truth. That's the only, tiny good thing he's done in this whole saga.Smith shouldn't said complete team knows about this incident that we discussed in lunch break. It may lead to suspension on the complete squad & I'm not sure if he continues as CA captain.
If CA board Takes action on smith next question , will Warner becomes Captain ?
I hope that this can be indeed a much needed rethink of players mentality and spirtsmanship.

Even If he isnt protecting Lehman, has Lehman come out and condemnd the actions of his appointed captain and vice captain? There is a case to say it is Lehman protecting them.....I think we are going to see the “career ending” Lyon so hoped for recently. In the same breath he couldnt do otherwise, could he?
Cameras caught everything and anyone into sports would know an act like that by wont occur without the captain’s prior knowledge.
Still think he aint telling the whole truth and is protecting Lehman.
