Australian Champions pushed Sharad Pawar during Presentation Ceremony!

Well when you have been waiting on stage for God knows how long and then you hear the commentator saying presentation is over with no trophy handed over you wonder when on earth you are going to get the trophy, hence Ponting took it upon himself to claim what was his and he did it pretty funny manner. Again if the presentation was more organized this would not have happened.

I'd be ashamed if captain of my national cricket team behaved like that on a stage, infact I'm not really sure if all in the aussie team liked his antics. Pawar had to ask him to stand in front to receive the trophy which indicates he had no sense of the occasion or his own status as a captain of his national team.
From what I've seen it was just another in a long history of long, drawn out and useless Indian presentation ceremonies, can't blame the players for wanting to get it over and done with. Some would say an appropriate end to a poorly run tournament.

anyway let's see what CA have to say, I hope to see a statement saying it's a normal behavior judging from the posts here.
I expect them to ask the players involved to apologise to Powar, not because they believe we're in the wrong but because everything in cricket is based around keeping the money sink happy.

Ponting and certain members of the team are rude and arrogant, you'll probably find most Aussies agree with you but they haven't done anything wrong here. Of all the things you could use as an example this isn't one of them.

And what about Ponting showing fingers and ordering Powar to handover the trophy surely it was before they got the Champions Trophy in their hand,so at that time they weren't celebrating.

I dont suppose he ordered Powar to hand over the trophy, from what I made of it he was just asking the trophy to be given out so that they could get to the celebrations.

What Im saying is that ofcourse things could have been done in a quiet and polite manner, but I dont think that the incidents were all that bad as is being potrayed by the media. In any case Id be more worried about how our team is going to do in South Africa.

India Lost. Lets Complain About It. Total over reaction. Bunch of whinges
What a brilliant first post. It's almost like a request to be racially profiled.

For *fill in swear word of choice* sake!

If you are from Asia just about every post is a case of pass me some ketchup. If you are from anywhere else it seems to be a case of "meh get over it Asia!"

End of the day nothing particularly offensive happened to either nation and just like the papers in England will make a meal of anything football related because it sells papers so the same thing is happening in India regarding this and cricket.

Would people PLEASE stop trying to base this entire non-entity around some kind of racial argument. Bare in mind that I am rather drunk at the moment and as such may be making as much sense as recalling Ganguly :p *

* that should change the subject lol !

Ignoring these immature 12 year old comments is the best way to go, all they seem to post are either a) make no sense at all b) slightly racially profiled or c) they do no use their brains before posting. Seems to be coming quite often on this forum nowadays which is to me detering a fair amount of members away from posting in the forums.

Interesting Ponting has indicated that he is willing to apologise if he is required to do so. I'd also expect Ponting to apologise to maintain CA's close ties with the BCCI.

You lost respect for Sachin because he commented on this issue. What about Ponting who two days ago criticising the West Indian players for not attending the ICC awards and was demanding an action against them from ICC bcoz of indiscipline. And he himself forgot what discipline is,and how many fans were watching it live. You guys are not bigger than Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar so if they say anything that matters most than us.This is not the first time Ponting was caught indisciplined.I and many
Indians have no respect for him now.Australians might be the champion team but when it comes to discipline they r no where. And it has nothing to do with India not winning the Champions Trophy,it wasn't India-Australia final,India were out of the champions trophy before the semi final so your logic here doesn't seem to impress.
I don't have any respect for people who comment on issues they clearly aren't in a positon to.

Just one question, If the Indians had won the tournament, Dravid motioned for the trophy to be passed on and Sachin Tendulkar gently nudged him out of the way (after repeatedly asking him to move). Would there be this kind of outcry from people in this forum and in India?

Doubt it...

The whole issue has been blown way outta proportion. I would expect this type of reaction If Marto had king-hit the guy.

Exactly. Anyone would think that Pointing had said "get the hell off my stage" (with something stronger used isntead of hell) and Martyn had rugby tackled the guy!

Why are asian people taking a small stupid issue like this, and making it into a racial issue again?? This really bugs me.

If that guy was an aussie, pom or a kiwi, nothing would of been said. In fact, people would have a giggle at it.

Exactly, if you're looking to have a swipe at Australian's here because we beat you don't even bother posting, Pawar didn't even complain!
It's not a big deal, stop making excuses for your poor performance on the field.
