Australian Domestic Cricket

I don't care who wins this game. I like both teams. But the Vics!! are the best, I want them to win every competition and cup. Go the Vics!!! Go Hussey (david)!!!

Ugh, they shouldn't have gotten so close. WA were pretty bad in the field, a million dropped catches and a handful of easy run outs squandered.

Not a bad start to the season, a victory for coach Tom Moody and Voges. One bloody run! Hauritz bowled well for what he ended up with, he should have had Pomersbach and Voges, that decision was terrible. Ronchi's hundred was great, I bet Sean has a new Gilly to look up to:D Now I can't wait to take the double, starting this Sunday!

I will go to the first days play at the Pura Cup on Sunday for sure, Iam at my Dad's, just 10 minutes from the WACA. I will take my digital camera.

That batting just isn't consistent. We need a lot more from Thornley given his experience. If we lose Jaques to National duties I can't see us doing very well with this sort of side. Might be time to first track Hughes as he seems to have what it takes.

It was kinda killed when Cowan got out first ball was it?
After that we have Jaques, Katich, Forest, Smith, Lambert... Real encouraging...

Haha we beat WA last year at the SCG by a run now they win by a run... funny to see Gilles think he had a catch. WA need a better 12th man... he dropped a sitter and stuffed that up.
Great fielding in the deep by rogers though, it was defo going for six until he full on dived, grabbed it, threw it back in and fell over the boundary, saved a six that would have won us the game in the end.

Gillies isn't the first to be confused by the rule. He stepped over after he had the ball, I think even Cameron White has pulled that one. WA really need to tighten up all over the field.

I'm not so keen on Rogers in the lower order. If he's going to play like he does, there's no room for him at six. I honestly think he would be the one to make way for North.

Yeah that just shows how much depth we have in our batting order, especially at the top. Rogers can't even get a spot up there. Ronchi is on fire, Langer is back, North will come in at about 4 and Voges has to be up there as well if he wants to impress the Australian selectors. Its really tough. Maybe drop Pomersbach more so that he can slog a bit more in the later overs and have Rogers promoted a bit.

I don't think it's unrealistic to have Langer come in at 3 or 4, after all he is the Warrior's senior warlord and it wouldn't be foolish to protect him a little. Rogers could open and he would be the foil to Ronchi's theatrics.

Nevertheless, I don't think Rogers is ever going to be that good a one day player. Pomersbach, you mentioned, is going to be a monster. They have to give him lots of opportunities.

Ronchi. Superb stuff from Ronchi. Might go watch the highlights on the CA site.

Rogers saved the match by catch the ball and then chucking it back into the field of play. Fantastic work and great thinking.

Meanwhile Tassie are being dumped on right now. All out for just 158, Birt top scored with 36, Brendan Drew got 28 and that was the next highest score. Queensland now at 5/336, and considering the fact that Tasmania are only missing Hilfenahus (Ponting doesn't count since he has played I think one First Class game in the past 3 years for them) and Queensland are missing Hayden, Symonds, Hopes and Mitch Johnson off the top of my head plus Watson through injury.

Queensland's second rate openers made 78 and 94, and Clint Perron got 64.

That one loss in Hilfy could well have been the difference. Noffke did the main damage for Queensland, Hilfy usually does that for Tassie. Also having to bat first at the Gabba is usually tricky.

Wright and Butterworth can be important all rounders when Tassie lose wickets, long batting was key to their success against NSW for the trophy.

Also, Hayden's hardly going to play any more than Ponting.

Jeez, I can't wait to get to the WACA today, haven't been there in a while. Can't wait to see some Warriors action. I hope WA bats first so I can watch how Rogers goes!
