Phillipson is in good form this season, and Simpson knock indeed came from no where. Never knew he had it in him. This seems to be the season for cameo knocks with Wade, Smith, Phillipson, Birt and now Simpson producing quickfire finishes.

Quiney fails again. I don't know why he was picked in the team when he has done nothing all summer ahead of Finch who was the hero against Tasmania.

In fairness to the Victorian bowling line up we are missing Siddle, McKay, Nannes, Harwood, Wright and Pattinson out. Most teams would struggle with their 6 top bowlers out. Our bowling line-up now contains 2 all-rounders, 2 spinners and a teenage fast bowler instead of an international quality attack

Quiney needs to lose the hair. He's like reverse Samson. Hard to believe the Vics are in any trouble at all, with Rogers belting the ball around. He's in the 40s and noone else has even made double figures.

The next step for Philipson is to move up the order a little and get a chance to turn an unbeaten 85 into 135. There's no reason why he shouldn't bat at 4 in that lineup, with 40+ one day games, he's really one of the senior players. Right now, he definitely bats like he is and that's all that matters.

Rogers spoons a pull to mid on, doesn't make it easy, but Kruger takes it. Key blow there, but here comes another international batsman.

Woah, what's the pitch playing like. Victoria bowled four spinners plus McDonald and his tight medium pace, what's the deal with that?

2 spinners were played due to all of Victorias bowlers either being injured or on international duty and I think Hussey and White were used because the pitch was spinning a bit.

Queensland don't have any decent spinners. They play Doran in the 4 dayers but he's a grade bowler at best. Averages over 60 and goes for more than 4 an over in the longer format

Probably ended up closer than it should have been after losing so many early wickets and an equal measure of batsmen getting out for too few and those failing to press with a good start. These two sides put on some good games.

Thought Victoria would chase down that total with their experienced batters. The big trio in Hodge, White and Hussey haven't put together a complete performance. Tonight they needed a 100 from one of them and the latter two got starts and should have gone on. Nice to see Wade getting runs, he is putting the pressure on Manou.

Walter didn't bowl out again. Nice to see Laughlin back.

Death bowling has caused another loss for Victoria. It's very disappointing. We have more talent and skill than all of the other teams but we're dying in the arse in the final 10.

However i'm very pleased that Quiney has been dropped. Been waiting 3 years for him to be out of the team.

NSW star openers struggled once again. Don't know what happened to Hughes and Warner, they have been pretty poor since the Champions League and Jaques is adjusting to a new position. Hazelwood and Smith had good games with the ball, would be good to get Bird back as he would be better than Keen.

Ronchi was awesome for WA, whatever he did in the off season really is working for him. Mitch Marsh is once again showing his potential. Hastings has been good all season for Victoria, looks to be coming along nicely in the bowling. Just needs to get his batting sorted.

At last Starc is back in action. What happened to Bird though? Khawaja also given a shot, may as well play him as he can't go much worse.

Mitch Marsh has another start, hope he can go on.

Warner and Smith have taken NSW out of a hole and into a match winning position.

Hughes fails yet again, his last 3 innings: 6,0,0 :facepalm
