Never seen him bat. What's his batting like? Gayle power hitting, Pollard style? Does he have a good technique?

He is probably the current best player playing for dutch. He is not a big hitter, but he is some one like Hughes. have a look at his profile, you could know how does he play. and yeah he have a good technique and very talented either.

Good change imo. Let's be honest, the only reason Simpson was getting picked was because he was skipper. Not sure if Hopesy was the right choice though. Maybe Carseldine or Hartley?

He is aggressive without over doing it. Very powerful with the bat and can hit sixes just about anywhere.

I find him to be so underrated. People say his stats are boosted by the fact he plays for the Netherlands, but he consistently performs for Essex in all 3 formats with both bat and ball. A genius signing imo, surprised he hasn't been picked up by an IPL team. They'd probably get him dirt cheap too, bit of space cake. RTD would get into any International team imo.

ODI average of 68.55 is extremely good even if you are playing mainly against minnows. Even though the minnows aren't as good as the full member sides, it still takes alot of skill and concentration to average nearly 70 runs per innings.

2010 - 11 Season Kicks off Tomorrow with two Future League matches, David Warner is replaced by Peter Forrest because of a niggle. Great chance for Nic Maddinson to get a spot in the early games of the one-day comp and even the shield side if he preforms well, with injured players and others on national duty.

Seems like there was a bit of what we saw in June at ABF. There was a bit of early tackiness that the spinners enjoyed more so than the quicks, before the conditions became great for batting.
