Australian Domestic Cricket

George's bowling is atrocious.

Marsh gone early again, sigh.

Heh, he's effectively captained himself out of the 1st Test.

Yeah, well out of the XI anyway. I'm sure the 12 will have 4 fast and 1 spin. And if the pitch is green then it negates England's supposed 'massive' spin advantage. It would make a very interesting test match anyway if the pitch plays like it did today.

BTW, what's Usman like in the field? I remember hearing he wasn't that great from someone. Where's he usually field? Just thinking that if Hussey is the man chopped, then Australia need a new gully fieldsman.

Pretty sure I saw Khawaja in the slips. TBH North was never going to be dropped no matter how bad he did. As long as he doesn't do his usual screw over for 4 test and make a career saving 100 then I'll be happy.

So amazing how NSW continue to produce quicks that get the job done. Coyte did dam well to back up his opportuntiy for a hattrick with a hattrick in his next match. Cameron reminding us of his talents and Copeland just brilliant as usual. Still got Cockley, Hazlewood and Starc to comeback not to mention Clark, Bracken, Bollinger.

Jesus, what happened to Queensland?

In short: Overcast conditions, swinging and seaming ball, Cameron and Copeland bowled beautifully. Some blame QLD batsmen, but really I don't know many international batsmen that could have survived out there.

Over 5.3: Cameron to Townsend, no run, OUT, short delivery finds a thick edge off a defensive stance from Townsend, finding the hands of Hauritz at third slip. QLD are 1/21
Over 7.4: Cameron to Broad, no run, OUT, full delivery into the pads of Broad, sending all the fielders up in appeal, as well as the umpires finger. QLD are 2/22
Over 13.1: Cameron to Lynn, no run, OUT, edged and taken first ball!! Gets half forward, pushes outside off stump and edges straight to 3rd slip! What a start for the Blues!
Over 13.2: Cameron to Dunk, no run, OUT, yorker first ball and Dunk's gone too!! Great ball, tailing in slightly and it's taken the base of middle stump!! Cameron on a hat-trick and the Bulls are suddenly 4/40!!
Over 16.3: Copeland to Carseldine, no run, OUT, gets forward looking to leave a ball. It swings back, he can't get his bat down on it and is trapped right in front. Umpire Martel quick to raise the finger, QLD 5/43
Over 19.5: Cameron to Hopes, no run, OUT, another one down with Hopes edging another great ball. Length ball on middle stump, nipping away enough to get the tiny edge. Cameron has 5 wickets, QLD 6/48
Over 19.6: Cameron to Swan, no run, OUT, and Cameron's on another hat-trick!! Quick ball, swinging in and straight through the attempted drive. That was a ripper of a ball, nipped in a long way to take the top of middle!
Over 26.2: Hauritz to Boyce, no run, OUT, short ball has Boyce attempting a pull shot. He gets a big top edge, Maddinson at mid on gets under it and takes the catch. QLD 8/66
Over 29.4: Coyte to Walter, no run, OUT, on his toes to defend, squared up, and gets an edge straight to Hauritz at 3rd slip. He leans forward to take the catch, QLD 9/75
Over 29.5: Coyte to Feldman, no run, OUT, bowled him, first ball!! Full one swinging in and straight through Feldman. Coyte will be on a hat-trick, Queensland skittled for 75 runs.

Over 3.3: Cameron to Townsend, no run, OUT, great yorker has sent Townsend on his way!! Swinging in late, jams his bat down but the ball is right between that and his pad. QLD 1/4
Over 7.1: Coyte to Carseldine, no run, OUT, HAT-TRICK for Scott Coyte!! It was a shortish ball close to the body, Carseldine threw everything at a big cut shot, found the edge straight to Forrest at 1st slip!! QLD 2/16
Over 18.4: Copeland to Broad, no run, OUT, bowled him, Broad on his way. Stepped across to leave another one, the ball tailed in just enough to hit the top of off stump. QLD 3/32
Over 21.4: Cameron to Lynn, no run, OUT, chases a ball outside off stump and another edge is taken. Lynn drove hard at it, Nevill tumbles to his right to complete a good catch. QLD 4/41
Over 25.3: Cameron to Dunk, no run, OUT, yorker traps him right in front!! Great ball swinging in, almost identical to the one that bowled him earlier. Umpire Barrow quick with the decision, hitting middle. QLD 5/46
Over 25.5: Cameron to Hopes, no run, OUT, edged and Cameron has 10 wickets for the match!! Hopes squared up to defend and the ball flies straight to Forrest at 1st slip. QLD 6/50
Over 27.4: Cameron to Hartley, no run, OUT, big shout for lbw as Hartley misses a flick through the leg-side, the ball swinging in again. Umpire Barrow thinks very long and hard, gives the decision. QLD 7/61
Over 28.4: Copeland to Swan, no run, OUT, full ball swinging in and Swan is trapped dead in front! Copeland knows he has the wicket and Umpire Martel agrees. QLD 8/67
Over 32.3: Copeland to Boyce, no run, OUT, slower ball does the trick, Boyce completely beaten and can't get his bat down. The ball takes the base of middle stump, QLD 9/92
Over 32.6: Copeland to Feldman, no run, OUT, it's all over!! Feldman fished for a ball outside off stump, gets a little touch and this one is emphatically over. The Bulls hammered, lose by an innings and 91 runs inside two days!

The fact is that they could have made a hundred more in each innings and it'd still be enough to say "wow, what happened there?" Conditions were ripe, but also they contributed to their demise.

Warner made a double century vs WA 2nd XI

That's like NSW's 4th string team haha.

1) Australia
2) NSW
3) NSW 2nd XI
4) NSW U-23's :p

But I'm pretty sure Daniel Smith isn't U-23. Or is that another Daniel Smith? Or is it not U-23's? Or can you play a few O-23's?

I thought the U-23's is the 2nd X1? But they are allowed to play one or two over that age, like Harris playing for QLD U-23. Used to be called the CA cup yeah?

From CA site

The Futures League will replace the competition formerly known as the CA Cup from the 2009-10 season onwards. An under-23 based competition, the Futures League will see some of Australia’s best emerging cricketers hone their skills each summer.

Doran grabbed 4, hes another one of the spinners that is rated. Surely one of them will come through and be our next spinner! O'Keefe did well with the bat again, not quite the same success with the ball.

Harris has been a bit expensive in both innings but hoping it's more because it's his first game in ages.

Tasmanian team for the next shield match:

Ed Cowan
Jonathan Wells
Ricky Ponting
George Bailey
Mark Cosgrove
Travis Birt
Tim Paine
Luke Butterworth
Xavier Doherty
Ben Hilfenhaus
Adam Maher

12th James Faulkner

Cazzulino unfortunately has a broken hand :(

Perfect time for Doherty to perform, right in front of the Aussie captain who seems to have a fair bit of say at the selection table and of course causing more stir in the media which is always good.

Victoria squad Aaron Finch, Robert Quiney, Michael Hill, David Hussey, Cameron White (capt), Andrew McDonald, Matthew Wade (wk), John Hastings, Clint McKay, Darren Pattinson, Peter Siddle, Jon Holland.

Can't find the NSW lineup but boy this should be a cracker so hopefully that stream is working.

Wow, looks at our middle order! Ponting, Cosgrove, Birt, Bailey and Paine  not to mention Cowan and Wells at the top and Butterworth can bat a bit too. It's all about taking 20 wickets me thinks.

When was the last time Ponting played for Tasmania in FC game?
