Australian Domestic Cricket

Harris just picked up his 3rd wicket, Hobart is bowler seamer friendly but very good signs none the less.

Figures say it all for the current Aussie test spinner. Hill looked good, an imposing figure. Hussey has been very good, White missed a prime opportunity to shake the ODI specialist tag.

Well also it must be mentioned that Starc dropped Hill at long on off Hauritz so it wasn't ALL bad for him - just mostly.

Hundred to McDonald. Haven't seen all of it, but he looks like he's in great touch. And out. Smith gets a questionably deserved wicket in the deep. Victoria in control of the game so far. If NSW bat themselves into the game, they leave only a slim chance of winning it.

Ye but its not like if Hill was decieved or anything. He played Hauritz with tremendous ease & disdain, which should really close the door about him playing for AUS again.

But unfortuantely our poor selectotrs dont think so. SMH..

Siddle gets the first wicket. Bowled across Hughes, but it nips in and finds his inside edge and stumps. That's how you bowl, Sid, none of this short filth.

Khawaja seems to get out to spinners quite a bit. Krejza ball that spun the other way, a few other spinners in between and now Holland. Good to see Clarke in the runs.

NSW batting is very similar to the Australian one atm, starts but no one going on. Real shame that Copeland and O'Keefe missed out as this would have been a great test for them. McDonald has started this season with a bang, a few more 100s and he could get himself back into contention.

Bit of a weird match down here at Hobart. I still feel that we're in with a chance with our batting line-up even though it failed in the first innings.

His bowling is what for me will prevent him from playing international cricket (tests) again.

No need for McDonald as we've got Watson.I'm not a fan of picking him as a specialist bowler either. If Watosn gets injured which i hope not then McDonlad would be in with a chance if he keeps that form up.

If hes in the side it would be for his batting, his bowling would be a bonus and I certainly wouldn't complain having him as a 4/5th seam bowling option.

This is what I'm worried about - particularly with Swann's fetish for left handers. Not sure I'd be super confident throwing Usman in at #6 with Swann in the middle of a spell. Get a right hander in there, he hates those :p

I think McDonald should be working on his bowling more. Work on the batting once Watson slows down and then become a batsman who bowls 5-10 handy overs a day. But if he works on his bowling he could potentially be a decent #7/#8 for Australia and would be good batting cover if Smith were to get picked in the top 6.
