Australian Domestic Cricket

I didn't get the impression that he was all over the place. I think it was the sort of way you might expect Hilfenhaus to get scored off on a quick pitch. I mean, you're rarely left thinking "Hilfy overpitched too much today". He got pulled a few times and the left handers guided the ball past the slips. His length wasn't particularly short, but that's why there were so many boundaries. Anything just back of a length was short enough to destroy, so even with the assistance of the fairly green wicket, the bowlers had less room for mistakes.

Why doesn't Fox Sports televise these games? :mad I can't even find them on digital. At least we've got fried chickening golf, baseball, constant rugby replays and nascar bullshit to choose from though.

They obviously have cameras at the game since I see highlights now and then, and there's some kind of livestream? wtf?

Looks like Victoria have found themselves another handy keeper batsmen. Handscomb in the runs again after making 40 on debut in the shorter format. Johnson bowled so his injury wasn't serious, was out bowled by both pacemen.

Simon Katich dumped as NSW Blues skipper | The Australian

Guessing that means both formats which is great news as it means he'll be guaranteed to be in the side.

A couple of quick wickets from Maxwow; a bit of turn and bounce at the Gabba that will interest both parties.

Maxwell certainly having a promising start to his career, hopefully some more runs this season. Nice seeing Forrest in the runs.

I'm gonna call it now. Alex Keath won't make it in cricket. He won't live up to the heights expected of him. He will be another Moises Henriques - only a solid domestic cricketer at best.

He has failed again. If you look at his results he fails a lot and this match he has failed twice when Victoria needed him pull his weight. This shows a lack of temperament and mental toughness.

I know he's only young, but at this stage whenever he bats I have zero confidence in him to make any runs.

Changes for next match

Out - Handscombe, Maxwell, Keath, Carters
In - Finch, Wade, Hussey, White

Gives us a batting lineup of

Rogers
Quiney
Finch
White
Hussey
McDonald
Wade

Putland struggling to find the right area. trying to swing it but only getting the odd wide one to go away. Richo looks a real chance.

richardson and lyon have kept things tight and beaten the bat. richo had some close shouts, but they're still searching for a wicket. pressure's all well and good but these two batsmen will play the long game and a slow start could be meaningless, especially if they can get christian, putland or the debutante mennie to give up runs.

Certainly a good tactic now, Khawaja has been steady all the way through while Hughes really has accelerated, a bit like some of Marsh's knock for Australia.

Finally the first wicket falls, Hughes toes a sweep off Lyon. Blues in trouble at 1/211

----------

Yet another lbw shout turned down. They've all been right arm over, never easy to give if the ball isn't swinging around, but this was around the wicket to khawaja and hit him plumb.
